i work in a hospital and am surrounded by food. every shift they bring around Cookies and coffee. I want a cookie so bad or even Oreo with milk ohh how i love that. its only day 2 of this 14 day diet :'( my surgery is July 19th i am allowed to have one small lean meal a day. this is literally my saving grace because it makes me feel full somewhat. im going to go home and steam a big bag of broccoli i cannot wait. i didn't bring enough food to snack on at work and i feel so tired and am getting a headache i did a 16 hour shift. Anyone else having the struggle of keeping the promise to the 14 day die it?

You’re soooooo lucky to have a lean meal a day. I got nothing, only liquids. I took a pudding, applesauce, and yogurt (all in already packaged cups from the grocery store so I didn’t have to physically pack anything) to work everyday and drank lots of fluids to help me think I was full. Of course I was starving lol but I got through it.

My diet was all Protein Drinks and clear liquids......and one serving per day of like four or so options...a yogurt, or a sugar free pudding, a cup of cream based Soup, a serving of sugar free oatmeal.

Pre-surgical diet was pure hell. Worse than the surgery, in my opinion. The first two weeks after surgry sucked, too....but at least the scary part is over and you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

All in all....that month of hell sucked the big one. I don't envy any of ya'll going through it!

Healing has been ok. The first three to four days was pure misery for me because of the Gas bubble they pumped inside of me during surgery. Other than that nothing really hurt at all. All my incisions are healing perfectly. I was really sick of the liquid diet afterwards so I start my soft foods diet five days early and I’ve been doing great. I was super hungry the first 10 days after surgery, but the past three days I could have not eaten once and never would have thought about it. I have zero appetite which is great! The diet before sucks but believe me, unlimited veggies and one lean mean a day is better than anybody else’s pre op diet I’ve ever heard of lol

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
