I'm 16 days post OP and feeling weak. Thoughts of food make me nauseous but I try to eat what my plan allows anyhow. I am getting my Protein in and most my liquid but still feel like poo. Any suggestions? I feel a as though I'm starving myself and not meaning to

Once you start taking Vitamins, you should start feeling better. At this stage, you're not getting all the nutrients you need. Hang in there.

I felt this way until the 4 week mark. Once I was on soft foods and could incorporate more calories, then I felt better. I was even able to start working out. It takes time for your body to adjust. Hang in there, your energy will return. Hopefully like me, ten fold!

Hopefully the OP is taking Vitamins. I stared as soon as I left the hospital. I didn’t know that people waited to start?

Agreed... bypass patients should be taking Vitamins right away.

Things will get better. You're not starving yourself, you are just dealing with the changes in intake. It takes a while for your body to adjust, but rest assured, it will. Right now, focus on resting and recovering. Doing your short walks etc. Just keep focusing on recovery, hitting your goals and following your instructions. Stay the course. You'll be fine.

I'm taking my Vitamins now. Started 10 days post op and have always been an avid Vitamin taker so hopefully I'm ok there.

Your body is still complaining " what did you do to me?, I thought we were friends." That probably is why,you feel like the flu, it is a shock to the system😛

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
