Dfox1984 117 Posted July 5, 2018 I had my sleeve done June 26th so I’m still on the liquids diet. I physically cannot do it anymore. I can’t take another bite of yogurt or pudding. I can do my Protein Drink, drink some liquids, and have maybe half a yogurt and a scoop of cottage cheese throughout the day. I’m drinking some liquids but I keep forgetting to drink constantly. Additionally, I haven’t lost a single pound since surgery. I know ppl will say “oh your body is in starvation mode”. For ten days? And not a pound? I don’t think so. I feel like this surgery literally didn’t work for me and I’ll starve and be fat forever. Anybody else feeling his way?! 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
Orchids&Dragons 9,047 Posted July 5, 2018 It will get better. Right now, your belly is all swollen. The weight will drop off as the swelling goes down. Just keep slogging through. This part is tough but you can do it. When do you transition to purees? 1 1 Dfox1984 and Frustr8 reacted to this
FancyChristine15 810 Posted July 5, 2018 I'm 3 months out. I'm not gonna lie, I HATED the liquid diet phase. It was tough, but you have to do it to give your new tummy time to heal. Like Orchids said, your stomach is probably swollen. A lot of people gain weight while in the hospital due to Water retention. Don't have a negative attitude toward the procedure this early into your journey. If you follow your doctor's advice, it will work. Don't be discouraged. Keep going. Call your doctor and see if you're ready to move into the next phase. I asked my doctor if I could move on, and they let me do it a couple days early. 2 1 Orchids&Dragons, Dfox1984 and Frustr8 reacted to this
magpie26 244 Posted July 5, 2018 I constantly forget to drink my fluids! Granted I'm 11 weeks out but if I don't drink 8 ounces first thing in the morning it's a bad start for me. Your body is all sorts of confused and your scale is your worst enemy right now. Drink your fluids, I seriously have to put reminders on my phone (still!) all day long! It's going to happen, you won't be fat forever, I thought the same thing. I sometimes still think that because I've lost 53 pounds since April and I'm only 1 size down in pants but I'm like 4 in tops. It will happen, put your scale away for at least a few days and you'll step back on it and you'll have gone down like five pounds. It happened to me just a few weeks ago after a almost 2 week stall. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this

I don’t transition to purees, my doc has me go straight to soft food next tues (two weeks post op). 1 Frustr8 reacted to this

Thanks, I guess that’s the best way of putting it, I’m discouraged. Especially when you read all these other post about ppl losing 40 pounds after week two. It’s exhausting 1 Frustr8 reacted to this

Thanks. I didn’t know we could drink 8 ounces at once. I just always have a cold drink handy and sip all day. Maybe after a few weeks I can drink more at once? 1 Frustr8 reacted to this

Buonnatale 22 Posted July 5, 2018 I gained weight during the first week post op... It definitely was due to swelling and all the iv fluids... Hang in there, it will start melting off soon! 1 1 Dfox1984 and Frustr8 reacted to this
jjenclarke 10 Posted July 5, 2018 Don’t be so hard on your self. It’s a lot of change happening all at once. I also find it difficult to keep up with the Water routine. I try to tackle drinking first thing in the morning and drink herbal tea through out the day. Hang in there . 1 1 Frustr8 and Dfox1984 reacted to this

Nil Cipher 1 Posted July 6, 2018 UUUGH!!!! I know exactly how you feel!! I had my surgery 6/14/18 and did a liquid diet for a week prior so basically in 28 days I LITERALLY have not lost any weight... not even an OUNCE. I am so discouraged too. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this

I just don’t understand So it's Sunday, and if I was you I know I would check the scale even though people told me not to. How are things going? An issue I had too (I know it's TMI) was I pretty much never pooped either. I was on a liquid diet for 2 weeks pre-op too, then clear fluids, then full liquids THEN puréed then FINALLY soft food. It took me some time to lose at first but then it started and stalled and started again (we all will have annoying stalls) now I'm on a streak of great loss. You'll do great! Go slow with soft food. Thanks for the advice. I’m doing ok. Still not losing weight but I’m feeling a little better and started myself on soft foods. I’m eating tiny portions and chewing a lot and I haven’t had a single problem! I am pooping here and there. But not a lot. I’m hoping that when I go to the dr on wed I’ll have made some progress!!! 1 Orchids&Dragons reacted to this
