I'm on my liquid diet I'm having a lot of dry mouth. I can't keep drinking liquids all day. Have anyone had this problem?

I rely on Biotene for that. Comes in oral rinse, toothpaste, and oral gel, which is what I find the most helpful. Meds and all sorts of things can result in dry mouth.

I have the Biotene mouthwash. It actually stimulates your mouth to produce saliva and it WORKS. I also have the spray. You can get them on Amazon if you don't want to go out to buy them

Any dry mouth spray is going to work.
But why exactly can't you continue to consume liquids all day?

If you are drinking plenty of Water, perhaps the dry mouth is due to medical reasons? My dry mouth led to a diagnosis of Sjogren's Syndrome (automimmue issue) after blood tests (negative) and then minor salivary gland biopsy (positive). There are many other medical issues that can cause dry mouth as well.

The whey Protein leaves a residue behind that seems to dry my mouth out. I'm now getting about 100 ounces a day.

I'm so glad I found this thread. I have been going crazy waking up with my mouth so dry that my tongue is literally stuck to the roof of my mouth! I'll give the Biotene a try. Thanks!

To anyone that's consuming and not feeling hydrated, try consuming some electrolytes. It's entirely possible you need some beneficial salts in your diet!! There are SF Electrolyte powders you can add to Water. Salt is an important part of bodies and works to aid in water retention, which, we do need to a certain level. In fact, drinking too much water without ensuring to add back electrolytes can cause Hyponatremia or any number of essential mineral deficiencies.

Thanks, Matt. I don't have any problems during the day feeling hydrated. It's just waking up at night that is annoying me. I've never had that "tongue stuck to the roof of my mouth" feeling before. It's really weird.

Dry mouth is a thing that exists separate from hydration. It’s something multiple dentists over the years have told me I have an issue with, as it’s something that can lead to more cavities and things like that. So yes, staying hydrated is super important, but very possibly not the issue at hand.

There’s an ACT mouthwash specifically for dry mouth that my dentist recommended for me, it helped a bit!

I had dry mouth from surgery day up until a few weeks ago.

It was very noticeable to me at the time but it just seems to have faded out and it has now stopped. I even went to the doctors about it as I was quite worried but they just told me to drink more and try to sleep with my mouth closed. I am a mouth breather unfortunately so I know it would have dropped open as soon as I went to sleep lol.

But never fear, mine went away, hoping yours will too x

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
