deargh 52 Posted July 4, 2018 So guys! I was really craving Mexican so I got a burrito bowl super healthy version only chicken and lettuce and sweet corn no cheese ,cream, guacamole or rice. I ate two bites and puked the entire thing up. I’m 4 weeks post op and it was way too much, I’ve been doing so well I thought I’d be a little adventurous. Never again! deargh 52 Posted July 4, 2018 Oh yeah I’ve been on soft solids since week 3 and moved on to normal textures with caution this week.
ShimmyShade 93 Posted July 4, 2018 I heard corn can be difficult for people early on. I would give it a few weeks and try again. 1 deargh reacted to this
deargh 52 Posted July 4, 2018 Yeah that’s probably it I thought it might have been maybe the oil or the spices but I’ll avoid all three because I was soooo sick 😂
Lily’sMom 28 Posted July 4, 2018 My doctor suggested that you should try the item again and that the response you had may not mean it is a lifelong issue. I know it sound like a difficult thing to do but if you like burrito bowls it would be sad to never have it again. Maybe leave off the corn this time. It is not easily digested. 1 deargh reacted to this
RickM 1,752 Posted July 4, 2018 Lettuce is often a problem for some (and not others.) I never had a problem with it, though by preference I usually use chopped spinach over lettuce given its' somewhat better nutritional profile. Our general rule of thumb was to try new foods one at a time to test for tolerance - if it worked, great, if not then try it again in a couple of weeks. I think that the first meal out was at Chipotle, and had their soft tacos, left the tortilla behind and had the filling of chicken, cheese, bit of rice & Beans, and a bit of their veg (all of which I had sampled in one form or another before this) and it all settled well 2 Matt Z and deargh reacted to this
Matt Z 4,139 Posted July 5, 2018 I was just going to say it was more likely the lettuce. Lettuce is not a Soft Solid, it's a "Raw" and Raws are the last stage to be cleared for. 1 deargh reacted to this
Arabian78 34 Posted July 7, 2018 I couldn't have lettuce until 3 months out. 1 deargh reacted to this
carlab 63 Posted July 7, 2018 I’m 6 months out and had a taco last week. Thought I was going to die. Stomach pain had me to the point of crying. Never again. I can live without tacos. 1 deargh reacted to this
