What is the weirdest thing you have experienced POST OP?

Recommended Posts

Weird, vivid dreams that I remember when I wake up. The first week post-op they were about high fat, high carb, hi-calorie foods I was eating in the dream. Woke up anxious, thinking I screwed up, lol!!! Next came a few weeks of random celebrity interactions. I've hung out with Tom Brady and Giselle, Vince Vaughn, Prince. Dreamed I was breaking out of prison, too. I'm not even going to comment. ;)

Am I the only one sleeved that didn’t experience any pain after about the second day? I’m not sure if I just have a Hugh pain tolerance or what but I felt normal and by day 5 it was back to reg scheduled programming lol.... anyone else? Because that’s super weird to me

I came home from hospital with Tramadol prescription, but never used it. For a day or 2 I took chewable children's Tylenol. That's it.

I returned to work day 5. Not sure I'd do that again, but not because of pain, because of fatigue. My energy was very low, I had to take frequent breaks, and I actually fell asleep during a lunch break for 1 1/2 hour.

I had the sleeve in 2014, so I am already used to being cold a lot. After my conversation to bypass on 6/26, I was so hot from anesthesia and pain meds. I would wake up just soaked in sweat. It was gross and weird lol.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
