sportsmommy74 12 Posted July 2, 2018 I’m a week out and have been struggling. I can’t keep anything down. I’m struggling with regret and a lot of second guessing myself.
nobiology 2 Posted July 2, 2018 Don't worry, I'm about three weeks out. It does get better, but even now I still second guess myself and experience regret. I think it's normal, and even though it sucks, you'll get through it.
SleeveinIL 386 Posted July 2, 2018 I did as well although I was able to keep things down. Everything started to fall into place after a couple of weeks and now I am doing great. Hang in there, it does typically get better.
jasminedenise 5 Posted July 2, 2018 I am right there with you. I had surgery 6/25. I thought It would be a walk in the park with my support system, but I am still struggling with this emotionally. I sure hope everything gets better for the two of us.
TakingABreak 2,733 Posted July 2, 2018 It gets better, it truly does. I will say that I still have some roller coaster emotions at 5 months post op. It gets better and better, but there is so much that plays into losing weight. Keep positive! Its still hands down the best thing I've ever done in my life (with or without the emotional baggage). 1 jasminedenise reacted to this
t1018ross 116 Posted July 2, 2018 I'll second that it does get better! I wasn't expecting all the emotional stuff after surgery. It was not fun and I regretted my sleeve for the first 4 weeks or so. I'm 8 weeks out now and my stomach is healed and I'm on regular food and feel SO much better. Starting to have more energy and feel normal again. Hang in there, the first month while your stomach is healing is the worst.
shrinkingpamela 17 Posted July 2, 2018 It'll get better, give your body time to adjust and heal. As for the emotional aspect, regrets, second thoughts, all that stuff, it's normal. Of course you're scared! This is a major change for you in both mind and body and that is scary ****. You WILL feel better and come through this healthier. If you are anything like me, 10 years from now you will look back at this as the best thing you ever did for yourself. I love my sleeve!
