I don't feel hungry, don't feel full when I eat. I feel like I can eat more than I should be eating although I am eating what my surgeon tells me to. How do I know when I am consuming too much food. I am afraid I am gonna stretch out my stomach.

I've felt the same way. But I do have friends that over ate and they had pain and even throwing up. So I know that I am doing the right thing by not eating too much. Just follow what doctor says and we can't go wrong. You would feel the pain if you were over eating and stretching your stomach.

Well I haven't felt pain. A couple times I have felt a heaviness in my chest while eating but it wasn't painful so I suppose I am good:)

I just feel like I can eat more than others on here.

You're only 12 days out, so you are still on liquids or purees, right?

If so, that's normal. Most people don't feel any restriction until they begin eating sold food.

I was in the same boat.... eat about 4 oz of Protein at a time (can be up to 1 c volume) . This seems much different than others who eat less— we are all different.

Early on Is get chest pains but those when away... My tell now is hiccups.
Although if I eat too fast I do feel sick.

I’m happy with my progress so I guess your body knows what’s right!

90 lbs in a bit over 6 months ain’t too shabby so I’ll take it 😊😎

When you are on liquids, the doctor usually tells you to limit you intake to a certain amount per hour, When you switch to puree or soft foods, they usually have a volume/time frame for that too. I personally have a bowl exactly the volume I'm allowed to eat per (soft food) meal, and my liquid I consume no more than 12 ounces per hour (it was 4 ounces per hour for the first few days after surgery, and then no more than eight per hour the first couple of weeks). See if you have volumes listed in you instructions.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
