I would make ranch flavored one with extra Protein and have it with carrot chips.

8oz Neufchatel cheese

~1/2 C of sour cream

~1/2 packet of ranch seasoning

2 scoops of unflavored Protein Powder

You can make all sorts of dips with plain greek yogurt. I make my ranch dip with it. But more often than not I just opt for hummus. Love that stuff.

I just can’t get into hummus. I have tried so many different ones.

Any other dip ideas?

I love beetroot dip, white bean, spinach and carrot dip. But as I love to eat them with soft bread I’m currently giving them a miss. In time I might have them again.

I use the hidden valley ranch dip mix with Greek yogurt (instead of the recommended sour cream) and it tastes just as good. I also eat hummus a lot.

I didn't even think of that! Thanks Ash!

In case you ever feel like doing the "from scratch" route, you can make your own mix:

  • Quote

    • 1/3 cup dry buttermilk
    • 2 tablespoons dried parsley
    • 2 teaspoons dried dill weed
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder
    • 2 teaspoon dried onion flakes
    • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
    • 1 teaspoon dried chives
    • 1 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
    • 1 cup fage plain yogurt

I like doing this just so I know everything that is in the mix instead of monosodium glutamate, modified food starch, maltodextrin, guar gum, Calcium stearate, natural flavor (soy). MSG, modified starch and maltodextrin, and guar gum are in high concentration than buttermilk in commercially available ranch packets.

Sounds good! I would for sure try it from scratch. Thanks for the tip

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
