Dfox1984 117 Posted June 29, 2018 (edited) Hi, just had my sleeve done Tuesday, June 26, 2018. From the second I woke up I was in excruciating pain from a gas bubble that sits on my stomach right above my belly button. I feel like I’m starving to death. It feels like my stomach needs to let out a bunch of growls or burps but NOTHING has happened in 3 whole days. I have no other pain other than that. I’ve walked, taken a bumpy car ride home from the hospital and drank Water all day today. I am miserable and full of regret. Please help!!! BostonWLKC 807 Posted June 29, 2018 Don’t regret.... promise it passes in about 5 days time. Only thing that really works is walking ... so get to it!
Kat0000 124 Posted June 29, 2018 (edited) Yes walk it out. Please try some warm peppermint tea. Its natural for gas. Lay on your left side, the best position to relieve gas, with a warm heating pad. Edited June 29, 2018 by Kat0000
Vegasurvivor 85 Posted June 29, 2018 I know EXACTLY how you feel. I could have written your post! I'm two months post op. Those first days after surgery were miserable. Have someone burp you like a baby. Massage your back starting at bottom and going up. Have them karate chop your back till the gas comes up. You will feel it as a burp and you will get relieve. I needed this down about every 45 minutes. Its going to go away. Don't worry and know it gets better every day. Sent from my Z970 using Tapatalk
Vegasurvivor 85 Posted June 29, 2018 Forgot to tell that I too had hunger. I woke up from the surgery feeling like I was starving. It felt like hunger and no one could convince at the time that it was anything else. 3 to 4 days later my stomach calmed down and the hunger pains were gone. I now think it really was not hunger but excess stomach acid. It does pass. Your will feel your stomach settle down back to normal in a few days. Dfox1984 117 Posted July 1, 2018 It finally went away! I think eating helped. I walked a lot like everyone said, drank Decaf mint tea, and massages my stomach while laying flat on my back. I also drank lots of fluids and I’m finally feeling great. But I still feel like I’m starving to death :/ 1 Pearldrop reacted to this
Vegasurvivor 85 Posted July 1, 2018 The starving feeling will pass also. Just takes time to heal. So many changes and such a shock to our bodies. Your stomach will settle down in the next couple of days and it will feel calm and normal. Next thing I went thru was tightness in rib area, a feeling like I could not get a deep breath. Had itching in stomach area when healed. Also got a yeast infection. After about month I got back pain. All normal from body changes. Feel like I've been thru so much. My husband had to burp me like a baby and massage my back and shoulders. Walking helped a lot. It takes a while to get over it. I hope you feel better soon.Sent from my Z955L using BariatricPal mobile app
