I am really struggling with this while liquid diet thing! I have to do it for 2 weeks and I barely made it through day 1!

Are there any tips and tricks that you all have tried that help get through this time!

Just stick with it. The first few days suck really badly. DO NOT CHEAT! Cheating just makes it worse in most cases. Just struggle through it and just keep reminding yourself of why you are doing this. IT IS WORTH IT!

Drink lots and lots of Water. I'm talking over 128oz a day. This will help limit the "thirsty" signals that confused for hunger. Stick to your diet sheet.

Just stay strong. After a few days it gets easier. Try to avoid any and all temptations if you don't think you have the will power to resist. You can do this!

If you are allowed sugar-free Jello - eat it without chewing very well. The lumps slide down into your stomach just fine, but they take a little longer to break down and can give you a bit of a "full" feeling, or at least not an "empy, echoing cavern" feeling. Good luck, this gets a bit easier over time as you develop some distance between yourself and food.

I'm on my fifth day and was skeptical when people say it gets better, but it really does! After three days it's not so bad and soon you'll be like "oh I'm almost halfway there"

sugar free popsicles helps me a ton

I can't believe I forgot the most important part! The thing that really helped me from an emotional breakdown is remembering to take it a day at a time. Focus on only what hurdles you have to face today. If you look at the mountain of the two weeks you will get overwhelmed.

Okay, I’ve only done two days of the liquid and then surgery got pushed back BUT I didn’t lose any weight. Not even Water weight which confused me. So I took measurements and I had lost an inch on my waist. It totally made me feel awesome! So take some measurements!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
