Probably worlds stupidest question. I lost a lot of weight since my surgery in December.(80lb) I had a pretty big booty before, now its very boney. Every time I do floor exercises my tailbone hurts so bad. I avoid floor exercises, as well as sitting on the floor. I doesn't hurt during other activities or sitting on soft things. Is this normal when you first lose weight. Does my body just have to get use to the lack of padding. I know this is a very stupid question. My husband and daughter say it cause I'm skinny now. So I was wondering if it really was normal.

Hi Ya, I can totally relate!! I have always had a no butt syndrome. LOL I'm sure there isn't a club for this...but I have had the hardest time with my tailbone. I'm not sure if it happened because of my accidents when I was a teenager and then again going roller skating in my 30's. Also my many falls from my horseback years. I can not tell you how many different pillows!! Now I am 5 years out and I just found out that they can put something around your tailbone. I envision fat from my upper body and filling up my tailbone. I did find this out from the program called "BOTCHED". I did ask my DR that works on my knee with a gel injection, I ask him about putting something in my bottom. He just kind of smiled and looked at me like I have birds feathers sticking out of my mouth!! I know we live in a city that is kind of slow getting info sometimes but...if it is on TV I wonder if they have seen it. Lo and behold I am still suffering with my achy breakee tailbone!! So sad but oh so true!! I hope you can get some help. Good Luck and have a great day!!

Even though I still have a lot of weight to lose, I never had much of an a$$. Now, even my nice computer chair hurts my butt. Yikes! I don't know what it'll be like in another 50 pounds. I'm already looking for decorative cushions for work.

I’ve lost a lot of weight since WLS 14 months ago, am below goal weight, and now have issues with coccydynia (aka tailbone pain). There are a variety of ways to relieve this discomfort (Google them), but when they didn’t do much for me I went to a pain clinic and had pericoccygeal injections of local anesthetic and steroid performed under fluoroscopy done. I had this procedure twice and have been pain free for a couple of months now. I hope it lasts for awhile.

Getting a coccyx pillow for your office chair and car seat is helpful if you sit for long periods of time. You can buy them on Amazon or at a medical supply store.

no joke! My computer chair is a hard wood mid 1800's colonial mid-back and it hurts my butt now, I have to sit on a small pillow!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
