I wish I could help. I don't think my doctor ever told me any expectations. I started at 292 my surgery day I was 283, my surgery date was 4/17/18 and I'm currently 244. I thought my nutritionist said something about 180 (I'm 5' 5) so I guess they didn't have high expectations. They say the average is half of your excess body weight. I think a lot of people lose more. Most people I know hit their goal plus more. I bet the veteran people are more helpful, my goal is the same as yours, I will work hard to hit it!

I'm 5'3" and my surgery weight was 243. My surgeon said 80 lbs would be good, and I could probably get to 100 lbs. 100 lbs loss would put me right inside the healthy BMI range. So my goal weight is 140 lbs, so a 103 lb loss. At 4.5 months post op I'm down 64 lbs.

I have no doubt I will be able to reach my goal weight and have a 100 lbs loss. I'm still losing steadily, but with stalls of course.

I think a large part is commitment. I stick to the program for the most part. I eat only when I'm hungry. I focus on Protein first. I make (mostly) good choices about what I eat. I'm excited to see the scale move, my body change, and have my clothes hang off me. But if you aren't committed, you can ceetainly eat around your sleeve, graze, make poor choices, and sabotage yourself.

Ehhh ... I feel like I should be doing more. I walk for 30-45 minutes a day 3-5 days a week.

I keep telling myself to join a gym, but quite honestly I'm intimidated.

Lol me too! I'm not good at making grunting noises while lifting weights yet.

In 3 months I’ve lost 58 lbs
I swim a lot but other then that I’ve not done much
I do still graze but I don’t anything fried and when I graze I might eat one cracker lol
But mostly my meals consist of a 1/4 of a frozen burrito or three shrimp
And no sides
I have gone from a size 22 jeans and XXL shirt
To a size 12/14 and L shirt

It’s scary joining a gym. Instead I started with a personal trainer in a private gym. I’m finally going to a public gym tonight.

It's really not bad. Find a gym with a lot of machines. People keep to themselves, lost in their headphones, or talking in small groups. Go at low use times and few people there. I am a LA Fitness member, and they have classes everyday to join.

The average result of gastric sleeve....is a 60% loss of your excess weight in 18 months.

Some people do a lot better.

Some do worse.

You get out of it what you put into it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
