4 weeks post op.

Recommended Posts

Hello

Glen here with an update.

I'm 4 weeks post op and feeling great. Started to loose weight again. I'm now at 256. Such an amazing feeling and nice when both my guy friends and lady friends say I'm looking fit.

It's so nice.

Thank you all for your support. It really had meant a lot to me.

Thank you

Glen

Little over 3 months post-op and I'm stalled out pretty hard. I'm pretty sure it's just a muscle building "issue" because I'm noticing much more loose and sagging skin now, but for the last 10 days or so now I've been stuck around the same weight. It's frustrating, but I know I'm getting everything I need to be, and I'm under my caloric burn each day, just gotta struggle through it.

That said... I feel down right fantastic.
Working hard on muscle growth, seeing sizes drop, just need that weight to start actually moving again and I'll be even happier!

Congrats to both of you guys. I hope to one day be in your shoes. Keep up the good work. I'm sure I'll be asking for much advice the further along I get on this journey.

Stall broke! Dropped below my second goal of 250, onwards to my 3rd goal, which was my dream goal of 200. Only 48 lbs to go to get there!

Hey J, the numbers are little "mixed up" My initial surgery was Nov of 2011, my starting weight was 370 back then, I had the band, and it didn't do all that great. Lost 70 there, but then that was it. Revised to the bypass this past March and since then I've dropped another 62 ish. I'm not even sure I could handle 122 lbs in 4 months LOL, but thank you! I wish the callout had more options for those of us that have revised, but sadly they don't just yet.

Either way, congrats. Still an awesome accomplishment. I just can't wait to get some of this weight off and hopefully be able to become more active. Start living life again.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
