Hi all. I was sleeved on 4/18/18 and have been doing ok. I have been meeting my 60 g of Protein daily and Water intake is about 95% of the time. Weight loss is going slow but I am continuing to lose lbs and inches. My issue is that for the last week my energy level has been so low. I am getting enough sleep but feel constantly tired. I am working out 3-4 times a week. My caloric intake is between 500-600 per day and I really struggle with that because I’m just not hungry.
Has anyone else encountered this? I am a total of 60 lbs down so my energy should be up right?

Are you taking your Vitamins? Your caloric intake that far out should be around 1000 per day (that’s the info my nutritionist provided me). I know it’s hard but you need to strive for more calories per day.

Hi@LifeBeginsAt46 from someone whose life is still going alas somewhat lurchingly at 72. Still trying,to,get things, right as I get closer to a July surgery date. Don't have an exact one, teensy bump in the road, not a complete roadblock, wasn't something in my original plans, had to change paths in the middle of the bridge, didn't want to fall into the ravine so have to follow this new rule. They promised I will know for certain July 9, then maybe 15-20? I started out August 2015 so I yearn for it to be over. In addition to the Calcium, VitaminA, Vitamin D and Iron I was deficent in. I take 1 prenatal Vitamin, for the iron also, I was close enough to anemia that my body needs it badly.
Where I am probably, falling down is also calorie count. After years of fairly high calorie count, once I have cut back, it is hard to believe going back to a higher calorie count is going to lose me lose more weight. Dietician/nutritionist swears it will. Can I believe him? Yeah it is a guy and his name is Roy, cool, slendar guy that looks like he could be a white point guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers. But Ohio State University wouldn't have hired him if he wasn't smart, sure they didn't install him,for his eye-candyhood.
How are you coming with having your calories and energy levels balance out?

I was sleeved the day before you! Sadly, I still have hunger so I don't have that "I don't feel hungry problem" I actually feel hungry a bit but I keep it in track. My nutritionist has me eat 70+ Protein daily, 48+ ounces (probably way more at this point) per day. Water is hard for me. I try to get at least 800 calories a day, my surgeon just told me I should to probably eat more now. I guess my point is, I was feeling pretty good but recently I'm feeling more tired, I guess it depends on the day. But if I eat more I feel a little better and drink too, if I eat carbs I feel like crap, I hadn't been eating any kind of simp!e carb.

so I agree with others and think you should try to eat more calories which I know is hard in general and also when you're not hungry. But I know how you feel.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
