gailf 12 Posted June 25, 2018 I have seen a couple of all in one "comprehensive" Multivitamins. Has anyone tried these? If so, how has your lab work been. I am wanting to cut down on the amount of supplements to buy, they are expensive.
LifeBeginsAt46 2 Posted June 26, 2018 My nutritionist advised me to take Flintstones chewable vitamins, two tabs twice a day. Also 600 mg chewable Calcium caltrate or calcium citrate with Vitamin D one twice a day. Take these 2 hours seperate than the Flintstone Vitamins. 1 gailf reacted to this
gailf 12 Posted June 26, 2018 https://store.bariatricpal.com/collections/bariatricfusion/products/bariatric-fusion-multivitamin-mineral-supplement-5-flavors My nutritionist told me not to go with the children's Vitamins. I already have to take a prescription Vitamin D 50'000 mcgs 3x a week. This one that I have found that is supposed to be "complete" or "comprehensive" It even has a disclaimer that says no other supplements needed. For $25.00 a month you can't beat it. So if anyone out there has tried this please give some feedback.
RickM 1,752 Posted June 26, 2018 The various bariatric Vitamins formulated for specific procedures are generally OK, and my be worth the cost if the convenience is that important to you. The problem with them is that over time, as your lab results come in you will probably find that you need "more of this and less of that" than what the product provides, and you wind up going with separate supplements. Also, with a bypass, you probably need more Calcium and Iron than those products provide, and they need to be spaced out during the day, so you still wind up taking supplements 3, 4, 5, or 6 times a day because those multis don't provide those added minerals that you need at different times, Try them if you like - many do but ultimately most give them up as they usually don't make things all that more convenient to be worth their cost. 2 MarinaGirl and Frustr8 reacted to this
gailf 12 Posted June 26, 2018 Thank you @RickM for the input. Ill talk to the nurse tomorrow see what she thinks. Guess it's all about personal preference and your lab results. I'm very nervous, but excited about my pending surgery. 6 days and counting. July 2nd, just 24 days shy of my 50th birthday. Happy Birthday to me. #excitedlynervous 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
