starting this surgery they made it seem as though you cant eat or you will feel full however I never feel full just self-conscious that my stomach is stretching and I stop myself from eating. I've been having Breakfast essentials, I had them in the hospital and fell in love. I can "eat" like 2 of these in a day I love the variety chocolate flavors, also I was having creamof Soups and like broth but it literally made me want to throw up after day 4 and I ran out of shakes so I just didn't eat at all besides Water from day 4-6. I tried several different regular foods none of which went down okay like eggs, tuna, steamed fish, babyfood banana, a mushed up pancake, etc eventually I got to the point where I drink only water and then chew up and get the flavor out of food then spit it out (Nasty I know). Now it is like day 10 post op and I got more B.E shakes along with a $2 baby watermelon and a large Soup from the hot food section (its kale and chouico but I mainly put the liquid in the container) and an Avacado ( i figured I could mash it up)

THE AVACADO WENT GREAT! I was so excited it's my favorite food and it went down smooth and yummy!! with a little salt and lemon. YUM!!

the soup went down fine until I got a little potato by accident, oops. that hurt like f**king bloody hell!

The watermelon went great too I've been really craving fresh fruit! I just had to eat it extremely slowly. but loved

But I just feel like overall I've been trying too many different things and eating chunky things too early and im worried about weightloss and I don't know I just feel its too much any input?

Try to stay as close to your plan as possible for the best possible outcome. If all of these items are on plan and allowed, and you are eating the appropriate amounts at the appropriate times you should not have a problem. Remember to hydrate with low or no calories fluids and ask your NUT if you have any tough questions. Safe journey!

10 days out I was still on pureed foods. Have you tried pureeing things? My favorite was turkey or chicken deli meat (2 oz.) with a little bit of jarred gravy (1-2 Tbsp.) and 1 Tbsp of mashed potatoes. Kind of like thanksgiving dinner. I've also done pureed meat with 1-2 Tbsp. light mayo, low sugar marinara sauce, sugar free BBQ Sauce, light ranch dressing, etc. It's definitely best not to be eating any chunks at this point and if you happen to get a chunk, chew it really well! I also like light cottage cheese (3 Tbsp.) with 1 Tbsp. of pureed fruit in it's own juice, my favorite is pears. Take it slow in advancing your foods. Has your nutritionist given you a list of approved foods at this point? Good luck!

I don't get hungry, but I sure do know if I've eaten too much.. PAINNNNNNNN. to combat this, I eat very very slowly. take a bite, chew chew chew.. then don't take another bite for at least 2-3 mins. this gives my pouch time to tell me if it's happy or not.

Thats the thing i dont feel FULL! so i keep eating and i dont know what to do. The only "pain" i ever feel is if when im swallowing something its too thick or whatever but not full. I thought the surgery would help with that but no.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
