I am 5 days out of surgery and have had no food in a week and so wanted an egg. So I scrambled one up with some cheese and savored it! I took baby bites and so far so good. Tummy seems to except it!

I was just wondering should I be able to hold a whole egg right now ?

Is that part of your plan so early out? It wasn't on mine and I thought mine advanced pretty fast. I was on Clear Liquids for a week then full liquids for another. eggs were allowed week three as part of the puree diet if they were scrambled. That said I couldn't tolerate them for months

Here's the thing, at this point your stomach nerves have been cut so you can't FEEL things the way you should. So it's possible you just didn't feel your stomach rebelling.

My plan states soft food first week -2 weeks post op. Soups, tuna, chicken, eggs etc.

I hope what my surgeon gave me was ok. I have read on here where some are given cream soups and cream of wheat I'm the hosp. I suppose all surgeons are different.

It was my first bite of anything and I was careful to chew and my great so far. I will call my dr in the morn though to see what they say:)

I am almost a month out and have just rediscovered scrambled eggs. They are so good! I normally add a 1-2 Tbsp of shredded cheese, a splash of Fairlife milk and a little bit of onion flakes to one egg and it is very nummy. That and 1/2 of a clementine fill me right up. As long as it's specifically on your plan, I say go for it.

When I was sleeved more than three years ago, eggs were one of the hardest things for me to eat. If you can tolerate it this early, you're far ahead of me! Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
