GreenTealael 25,439 Posted June 24, 2018 (edited) So this may be nothing but I have been entering my height as 5'3" and I now weight 170 which means in still obese but my drivers license says I'm 5'4" which means in overweight. Now im feeling lost because I don't know how tall I really am and it should not matter so much but the division is vast in my eyes. What would you do? PTundra6 8 Posted June 24, 2018 Next time you go to the doctor, have them measure you accurately. Or have a friend weigh a measuring tape help lol 2 MarinaGirl and sillykitty reacted to this
Creekimp13 5,840 Posted June 25, 2018 (edited) I would try not to worry so much about BMI because it's extremely flawed. Arnold Schwarzenegger had an obese BMI when he won Mr. Universe. https://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=106268439 Edited June 25, 2018 by Creekimp13
GreenTealael 25,439 Posted June 25, 2018 Oh, what is the gold standard of measuring these days then since weight in lbs seems obsolete too...
Creekimp13 5,840 Posted June 25, 2018 (edited) Body fat percentage. Use an underwater scale. https://www.mensjournal.com/health-fitness/top-5-ways-calculate-body-fat/ Edited June 25, 2018 by Creekimp13 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
jess9395 5,449 Posted June 25, 2018 Waist to height ratio is another valuable one health wise. You say "what would you do?" What is there to DO? Nothing you do will change either your weight or your current BMI. Is your life going to change based on that number today? Keep on your path and you will go to the same place wether your height is accurate or not. Now I will throw another curveball at you-- when I lost my 135+ lbs I lost half an inch in height from the bottom of my feet! YUP! Crazy, right? My surgeon says its not uncommon at all. It's also not uncommon to gain height because your posture gets better! So what I would "do" is not sweat the small stuff! 3 Sleeved36, GreenTealael and allwet reacted to this
