So this may be nothing but I have been entering my height as 5'3" and I now weight 170 which means in still obese but my drivers license says I'm 5'4" which means in overweight. Now im feeling lost because I don't know how tall I really am and it should not matter so much but the division is vast in my eyes. What would you do?

Next time you go to the doctor, have them measure you accurately. Or have a friend weigh a measuring tape help lol

I would try not to worry so much about BMI because it's extremely flawed. Arnold Schwarzenegger had an obese BMI when he won Mr. Universe.

Oh, what is the gold standard of measuring these days then since weight in lbs seems obsolete too...

Waist to height ratio is another valuable one health wise.

You say "what would you do?" What is there to DO? Nothing you do will change either your weight or your current BMI. Is your life going to change based on that number today? Keep on your path and you will go to the same place wether your height is accurate or not.

Now I will throw another curveball at you-- when I lost my 135+ lbs I lost half an inch in height from the bottom of my feet! YUP! Crazy, right? My surgeon says its not uncommon at all. It's also not uncommon to gain height because your posture gets better!

So what I would "do" is not sweat the small stuff!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
