Bree130 26 Posted June 22, 2018 I am 3 months post sleeve surgery. Weight loss has been great, lots of energy, working out, eating healthy. Although lately, I’ve been kind of grossed out by food (even unhealthy food). I’ve found the only thing that does not gross me out are crackers. Saltines, thin wasa crackers, even goldfish. Salty and bland, lol! Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience this far out from surgery if not further? 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
Mhy12784 423 Posted June 23, 2018 I wouldnt say I get grossed out by food But I definitely developed an aversion to food. Theres many days where of my 5 meals 3-4 of them are Protein powders/shakes and Fiber supplements because I dont feel like eating food. Im hitting all my numbers, blasting through my goals, and have a clean bill of health. And im very happy with what I consume. So I sure dont mind it 1 Frustr8 reacted to this

shedo82773 1,236 Posted June 23, 2018 I had problems after my RNY. I couldn't hold food or Water. I had 5 endoscopes with 4 dialations. I definitely had and still have a aversion to food. I still (but not as often) would rather drink my Protein than eat it. I went to see a NUTRITIONIST. Do you know what was her advice was...she told me to eat every half hour that I was awake!! Now I went from an overeater to a weight loss surgery to help me to not eat all the time. I totally had to work thru it myself. I now know that I can do ok with what I can eat and stay healthy. I still have great restriction and I have been working on my mental stuff too. Food does NOT tempt me like before. Don't get me wrong I do have my bad days and time. Have a great weekend and be kind to yourself!! 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
Bree130 26 Posted June 23, 2018 Good to hear the aversions are there! There are times Where I’ll just drink a Protein Drink in place of eating because I just don’t want to do it! Never in my life have I spoken these words, lol! 3 cdwashington73, Taoz and Frustr8 reacted to this
shedo82773 1,236 Posted June 23, 2018 TOTALLY me!! If I could I would drink my calories AND my Protein also!! Those words have never been uttered from my mouth either. It helps me when everyone has their goodies because they gross me out too. I will try to get excited about food functions when everyone comes over but...I would rather not eat anything. My son makes fun of me and says she will have a bite of her meat and a bite of her veggies then she is done. If I could just loose my LUST for the sweets etc I would have it made. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
Losebig 508 Posted June 24, 2018 I go through cycles where some days it's hard to not eat too much and others where I struggle to eat. Nothing overt, but a general distaste for consuming everything...
Creekimp13 5,840 Posted June 24, 2018 Used to love eggs and ham. Hate them now. Used to love pork chops. bleh. Used to hate oatmeal and avacado...LOVE them now. Used to hate salmon...can't get enough. Keep trying new things. Tastes change. No clue why. Take advantage of when they land on a good-for-you square:) 1 Bree130 reacted to this

Beans, peas, whole grains, lentils, brown rice, soy, potatoes, squash....if I eat this stuff, I won't get the rebound hunger of simple carbs and I won't crave simple carbs like a maniac. Works awesome for me:)
Bree130 26 Posted June 26, 2018 Since this surgery, certain things have amazed me. First, how tastes change. I think this is crazy! Like Creekimp13 said, I’ll take the distaste for sweets for now! Second, how weight fluctuates after. I was teetering between the same 4 lbs for weeks. Exercising/eating well. Then just this morning I was down an additional 4 lbs out of nowhere. 1 BostonWLKC reacted to this
