"10 days notice before bypass"-questions

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I 'checked in' w/my doc office today to see if they'd heard from my insurance company, they said they'd been trying to call me b/c they want to schedule my survey for July 3! (It's June 22! Not sure if my vm was full or what?!)

I mentioned I have a fatty liver and asked, don't I need the 2 week diet (their 2 week diet), they said a week should be fine.

So....tell me what to do and buy and for how long I should have a sitter watch my kids afterward and are there any decent sized Vitamins out there that I can actually swallow, and any other advice?

I was picturing being told my date was 3-4 weeks away, I'd eat a few of my favorite meals, have my last margarita and diet coke, but I guess I am on shakes starting asap!

Thanks in advice for any info and advice!

I can’t give you any real advice as I haven’t had surgery yet, but...just breathe. Lots of people only have to do a 1 week diet, some even only have to do 3 days. You will be fine.

Congrats on getting your date!

chewable Multivitamin, chewable Calcium, sublingual Vitamin b, Tylenol and or liquid Tylenol. Gasx, beano, and possibly lactaid pills are useful too

sugar free ice pops, Protein Shakes, Protein powders, sugar free Jello sugar free pudding, flavored sugar free drinks. And a comfy place to sit

After a week you should be feeling decent

I would experiment with protein recipes now before the surgery, as you won't want to get creative afterwards (mugcakes, protein pudding, protein fluff/ice cream)

Take advantage of the week finding creative ways to get protein and fluids in that you can apply the 3 to 5 weeks post op. That's the biggest thing I wish I did, buying all the **** is the easy part

These Vitamins are great. They are like a pixie stick powder. From what I understood, my doctors group put these together and have everything you need. They are delish! I was using the Patches but the can’t get wet and in the summertime I found myself not putting them on during the day and then forgetting at night. This one is easy peasy and it’s like a candy treat!
