AdiosAnnie300 16 Posted June 22, 2018 I am coming up on completing 3 weeks post op. I have lost 14 pounds since surgery. My biggest drop was week one and it has slowed to a stop this week. I have not increased my calories. I really don't want to be that 1 pound a week person when I was hoping for 3-4. 1 Hannah83 reacted to this

(waves) I felt that way too at first props for doing what you are doing, keep going and listen to your body. I had my surgery in October 2017 and I'm only now in the low 190's because of meds, muscle mass and I probably am a slow loser. This is the best choice you've made for the rest of your life, it's a marathon, not a sprint. It's something to be sustanable long term. Well done on how far you have come. It takes guts to do what we have done, I had no idea I'd not have a 'honeymoon' year like most do. The medications for my depression only in the last month have started metabolizing fully. For me, the hardest part has been mental, be kind to yourself pamper yourself like spa day or spa at home day get your hair done nails done etc. I've seen so many inches fall off however, the weight will follow. It's just a portion of the picture. Keep your chin up. Edited June 22, 2018 by Hannah83 1 SydneySleever reacted to this
nenes78 528 Posted June 22, 2018 (edited) Its totally normal. Our bodies are very efficient and don't waste. What happens is when the cells holding fat are depleted they fill with Water. Our bodies do this because it would be inefficient to destroy a fat cell immediately, in case we need fat storage at a later time so water is stored in the cell until the body realizes that the cells are truly no longer needed. Then all the water and cells are let go. Its known as the whoosh effect, there are many articles online about it. here is a link for you to read up on http://100down.org/the-whoosh-effect/ Just stick to your plan and ride the wave Edited June 22, 2018 by nenes78 1 Hannah83 reacted to this
Mhy12784 423 Posted June 23, 2018 The best way to get through the week 3 stall, is to get to week 4. The numbers can be sporadic . Its going to take you 9 to 15 months to get near your end goal. If you start driving yourself crazy at week 3 its gonna be a bumpy road. Youll have weeks where you lose 0-1 pound and then lose 5 the next. Its just the way it works, as long as youre trending in the right direction and not doing stupid things to sabotage yourself, youll get to where youre going 3 Hannah83, AdiosAnnie300 and Taoz reacted to this
