I'm just over 2 years out and it appears that I am getting a 2nd wave of much needed hair regrowth. And it's about an inch long and looks like it might be coming in wavy or curly. Time will tell. My original hair has always been super fine and straight, so this is a little different. Anybody have a totally different texture of hair regrowth?

My hair...that was bone straight before my daughter was born....became very wavy after my C-section twenty years ago. It's still very wavy. No clue why this happens to some folks.

Happened to one of my cousins after major surgery. Her stick straight hair became curly.

I've heard of this after chemo with regrowth hair, but never for major surgery. It makes sense that its your regrowth. I don't know if people's hair that didn't fall out will change. *shrugs*

Happened to me after a surgery three years ago - had thick straight hair and now the pieces that would be left down in a half-ponytail are frizzy. When I went to a stylist I hadn’t seen in a while she asked if I’d had a baby, because it’s the type of hair texture change that can happen with childbirth.

I find it both annoying (frizzy?! My hair was so SMOOTH!) and strangely useful (I can twirl my hair into a bun and it will sometimes stay like that without pins, if I’ve wound the frizzy bits right).

Had DresdenDoll Shirley Temple-type curls, went into surgery with ether for T&A, came out with lank straight hair. Never had my curls again although if I keep it cut short in a pixie-shag the waves and curls return. So I look like a heavier female version of Will Farrell in ELF most of,the time. I will hold on to my last vestiges of CUTE until the day I die!

It’s been a year since my surgery and I had some Hair loss. My new hair started growing 6 months after. The new hair is curly and stubborn. 😖🤪 It’s all good because I’m 80 pounds lighter and wearing a size 4. So I will deal with my new crazy hair!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
