deargh 52 Posted June 22, 2018 Hi all, I got my surgery on the 12th of June and I’m currently 10 days post op. I can’t shake the feeling that I should have gotten the bypass instead. I’m unsure that this surgery is going to work for me. I’m getting my Protein in with those horrific shakes and sipping Water the whole day but I’m still STARVING I’m currently on the thick liquids stage. I’m so worried it’s not going to work for me I’ve lost a lot of weight in the 10 days. 6kg about 13lbs. 12 kgs in total so around 26lbs since post op. But I don’t know how long I can keep this up. I’m so worried that I wasted all that money and it’s not going to work because I’m hungry literally 20 minutes after having my liquids. Has anyone else had this experience? Matt Z 4,139 Posted June 22, 2018 While I can understand the thought about not thinking a restrictive only WLS wasn't right (I had the band in 2011, wish I went bypass back then) but you are only 10 days out. You really need to give yourself a bit of a break, and at least heal up first and get back into "normal" foods before you can really decide if you made the wrong choice. There are plenty of people that have great success with the sleeve. Just stick to your instructions and do your best. Don't focus on the whatifs and defeatist thoughts just yet. 1 deargh reacted to this
KimTriesRNY 1,853 Posted June 22, 2018 Hunger is a normal feeling. You were on liquids most likely pre op and now post op that is continuing for some time. It is normal to want to physically eat something. Once your diet progresses and you move along you will likely feel better about your decision. Hang in there! 1 deargh reacted to this
