Good night. It’s 11:23 my time. Will be hitting the sack as soon as my sister appears with the money she owes me for watching the baby.

Getting off of everything is one of the many things I am working on.

My visit with my surgeon went well and I have my return to work date in hand. I will be able to go back to work on the 31st. He said I could go back whenever I wanted and if I wanted he would have let me go back today. I chose the 31st so I would be able to work part of the week, have a weekend off and then go back a full week. I have also been given clearance to go to the gym. I can walk on a tread mill, ride a bike and do light resistance work. No Water aerobics until all of my incisions are healed up. The pains I have been having in my back have been my precious pouch talking to me and telling me that enough is enough and I need to pay more attention to what she wants, or does not want as the case may be.

So I’m trying some chicken and rice for dinner tonight. I’ve learned that breads and breaded foods I can’t have. They fill me up. I can’t have potatos either. But most veggies I’ve tried go down no issue. Tomorrow I’m going to a kickboxing gym near me that is offering me a free. The mall I live by is offering a fitness thing free on Saturday mornings untill winter. So I’m going to that.

Also upper management stopped by work today and mentioned I’m looking much better than I had before my surgery!!

I still can’t eat a whole banana in one sitting. Needless to say I just threw up 😩😩
I haven’t tried bananas yet. I’m scared it’ll be too sweet and I’ll dump on it. But I haven’t dumped on anything except some sugar free pudding I ate a month ago. I usually just throw up if I can’t eat something .

I’ve been doing a ton more cooking lately. I can easily scarf down a cup of Soup or s cup of veggies but heavier foods it’s more like a 1/4 cup I can have.

My biggest issue is Water. I’m always chugging it and then regretting it later.

I went to costco and bought a pack of the 8 oz Water bottles. I can chug about 1/3 at a time, wait a few minutes and go back and so on. Then I don’t overdo it on water.

I get the huge bottles because I’m a teacher and it’s easier to just have this big bottle. Maybe I’ll pour into a cup

That sounds like a good plan. I’m a pizza chef and so when I have a moment at work I just refill my little cup at work and drink that.

I made some Shepard’s pie today. Some with White Potatoes for Kids and some with Sweet for me. I used a meat substitute, peas, carrots, broccolli in a savory tomatoe sauce. Trying to get my Phytonutrients in naturally :))). Kids lapped it up, but u fortunately I got full just on the tasting while cooking and now the thought of actually eating it is not appealing anymore... 😕

I’ve had a similar issue with leftovers after I get full off something. I can go back for more later. The thought of it will turn my stomach. It makes meal prep super tricky. I can’t eat off the same stuff for a few days. I use to be able to do that no problem. Not post surgery.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
