I use Aria scale which is connected to Fitbit and sends weight and fat stats to phone app and graphs them for me :)

Do you have thoughts about the Fitbit vs Apple Watch?

You know I wear them both but for fitness, it's fitbit all the way! Simple, easy to the point, not too big, and it shows steps on the face! For the life of me I can't figure out why Apple will not show steps on the Face!!??! I even went to the apple store and they could not figure it out. You have to go digging for that intel. No Bueno!

FYI: Wanted to share a victory. So remember my Stall? Well, since going Vegan (oh boy...here she goes again about the Vegan thing LOL), but for real, I would want you to tell me too, so just wanted to let ya'll know my weight loss has...accelerated! Faster than the first 3 weeks post surgery! And I'm down from my 245 stall to 238! A good 8 lb down. Still getting over 80g Protein daily and 45mg Iron daily, No Constipation, completely regular on a daily basis, lots of energy for my daily 1-2 hour brisk walk, no Hair loss (knock on wood), good quality sleep at night and a general sense of well being. Best part I have a world of colorful, nutritious veggies to cook daily and the family is benefiting form it too. I know it's not for all, but if you struggle with any of the above, which I was, I would encourage not fearing adding some veggies and fruits into your world. I know for a fact post Sleeve, I focused way too much on animal protein and I think it was to my detriment. (that said, listen to your surgeon, I'm no surgeon, just sharing my experience etc etc :D

I use the Yunmai body scale and app which calculates everything everytime I weigh myself

How does it calculate body fat just by standing on it?

A small electric signal is sent through your body. The return rate is used for the calculations since it travels through fat, muscle, bone, Water, etc. at different rates.

My boobs have also gone flat. I swear they're getting longer too. Ughhhhh! Never thought I'd want a boob job but I want them back up on my chest after I lose all my weight and stay stable for a while. If they keep getting much longer they're going to be past my bellybutton before I know it! 😮😲😥

@ellie123 did you become a vegan after this latest surgery? I'm shocked how well I've done during all the phases without meat. In the past if I didn't get enough Protein from meat I'd pay for it. Now I'm trying to do some meat free meals on a regular basis.

Wow, have you gone meatless too?? I am a Sleeve to RNY revision. I've always LOVED meat and milk products and eggs and butter etc etc. All 40 years of my life I have never gone without it! And I ate it with my band, and with my Sleeve.

So here's how the Vegan happened. My doc had me on Clear Liquids for 3 weeks with no diary...then told me to add back in eggs, and grounded meat. And I LOVE yogurt, milk, cream, cheese OMG, on my last trip from France I had a WHOLE suitecase Packed with cheese from Hard to downright Stinky! I'm a certified Cheesaholic! But, I survived the 3 weeks without it, and without much veggies, fruits etc. But I was tired, and felt malnutritioned and unhealthy and constipated etc. Which is kinda to be expected. But seeing as this is not my first rodeo, I wanted to listen to my body more and not repeat the same mistakes. So...I started to educate myslef of nutrition nightly to see how best I can support my body through the healing process and nourish it while loosing weight. One profound influence was watching the documentary "What the Health" on Netflix (I so recommend you watch that!).

So I replaced my morning Egg (s) with my Green smoothie (which seamlessly incorporates my 1 a day Bariatric Vitamin chew from ProCar Bariatric health and the rest was history. Like right now, post my dinner, I'm not just feeling full, I'm feeling Satisfied and harmonious. Hard to explain but there is a difference.

Like I said, I know it's not for everyone, but I'm super excited about the results, not just in the scales, so if anyone is cooking a vegetable or even a meat, I would love to be inspired. Because that said, it's not like I'll never touch another chicken or egg again, just for now, I'm doing so well without, trying not to tinker with the formula. Veggie or not, we need to learn how to cook again and enjoy a positive relationship with food again, but with Bariatric friendly healthy food, so we don't feel deprived and one fine day when we can eat more, start slipping into old habits.

So were you Veterinarian before or thinking of becoming? Would love to hear more about your veggie meals. I try to post mine

Thanks @ellie123! Nope, I'm not a vegetarian or vegan. I'm just trying to get my body to a healthier place. I couldn't fully give up meat or even dairy. Lately I've been eating "lots" 9f cheese. It's a great snack addition.

Wednesday I start back my weekly injection for RA that tends to make me sick if I don't eat beef that day. It's so strange! When I have bloodwork I have to eat beef the day before and day of also otherwise I get sick. I don't have low Iron so it's weird that I get sick from that.

My energy level is so low still. I've got to do something to get it back up. Before surgery I was working an average of 50 hours a week (by my own choice). Now it's a struggle to get in 40. I don't like that one bit. Neither do our finances.

I've seen lots of people eating eggs for Protein but I'm allergic. My other food allergies aren't as severe but there's lots of foods I avoid. Recently I learned that non-antibiotic-free chicken causes my body lots of pain and makes it harder to move. I'm trying to pinpoint foods that make my pain and stiffness worse so I can eliminate them or at least eat them very rarely.

I just want to be healthy and be able to grow old without a lot of issues.

Anyone else still struggling with low energy? Thursday will be 6 weeks since surgery for me and I'm still more tired than usual. Maybe I need to bump up my Protein a bit more. My arthritis probably isn't helping in the least.

So I finally got off my butt and did my first workout since the surgery. I’ve been avoiding it idk why— probably because I’m afraid to work out in front of people. So my husband cleared an area for me in my bedroom and got me 5 lb weights. I found a free beginner hiit class on YouTube and I made it though 2/3rds of it. It was hard. But I’m proud of me.

yay!! I am trying to get off my butt too. I have been doing about 3 days per week but I need to do more and go longer. Which hiit class did you do? I need to switch my workouts up more I think. I've been doing Slim in 6 (you can find it free on you tube too). I can't get though the whole thing but I will do some and then skip to the next segment and do some of that and skip ahead.

https://youtu.be/2AEO0I5VrQI this was the class. I made it 25 minutes through the video. Tomorrow I’m going to try again. My goal is to make it through the whole thing by Tuesday next week. I also put a little star on my calendar to show that I did a work out today and wrote hiit next to it. I subscribed to their channel too.

In December my husbands backpay from VA disability should kick in and he should be bumped from 70% to 100% according to the lawyer which puts us at enough income for me to quit my job and us be okay. So at that point I’ll be doing just that .

I also watched this video today: https://youtu.be/5JxLpUSVix4 I’m going to look into net carbs, I know Ellie mentioned it before but I do better when carbs aren’t a thing. I just need to be able to find meals I can afford that keep me satisfied.

I’ll let y’all know in a week how I’m doing on this (hopefully it’ll cause some melting again like the first couple weeks. If that’s the case I’ll be celebrating weighing less than hubby 😍😍😍)

@Megan Sadler I'm doing very low carb and low fat too. My doc said to NOT do actual Keto b/c it's high fat. I'm just focusing on Protein. I eat a lot of shrimp. Alot of the keto recipes can be converted to low or mid fat. I find that protein is for the most part keeping me satisfied. Depending on the time of month, I've gotten kind of snacky a few time. I need to turn that off!

I have been collecting recipes here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LoPqBWnVn3ZejFugIvfmSsTIUmi1iBNk6zo4gbCxUFc/edit?usp=sharing

I think that is the link to let anyone have access to the file.

I have a Pinterest board. I have PCOS so it’s hard but I think it’ll be best if I just succumb to low carb

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
