Anybody have pain that comes and goes in small incremental cycles on right side? I have my biggest incision under but its like a dull pain sometimes...

I do. The surgeon told me the upper right is the most painful. I get twinges and full aches there from time to time. Probably healing pains.

So it's normal?? I should not worry unless it gets really bad?

I can’t say for sure that it’s normal what you’re feeling - but I can tell you that four weeks out I still get the most pain in that spot. If you’re concerned I would call your surgeon.

Question for those who are further along than I am...how long did you wait after surgery before going back to gym/starting to go to gym? I was between gyms and want to sign up for a new one but debating when to start the membership...

Have you tried the infamous ricotta bake? Are you allowed tuna? I was allowed tuna. Thankfully I only had to do that stage for a week

Chili was something that I didn’t mind the puréed texture of. I looked up tons of recipes that would be good for this stage. Baked fish is pretty much a staple in my puréed diet because different spices helped give it different flavors and if it’s flaky enough, it doesn’t have to be puréed.

Say grace,

have you seen the blog The world according to egg face? Just search for purée recipes. I am on purée and just tried her ricotta bake. It was amazing. I figured that her recipe makes 6 servings, 105 calories, 9.1 Protein grams, carbs 3.6 grams. Just an idea. You may have to leave the mozzarella off if not allowed

I’m on full liquids currently, can’t wait to get to puréed! I’m so excited to have some eggs. Full liquid is so boring...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
