I do that also with the Water, kinda reminds me of that Yoo-hoo chocolate drink

end of post-op day 3! felt pretty good today, was able to walk around a lot. my thighs are all bruised up though from having to do lovenox injections which is annoying. had to take a stool softener to get things going. have just been taking 650mg of tylenol and haven’t had to take my dilaudid which i’m very glad about!

what was easiest for me to get down today was hot Water with a chicken bullion tossed in. i prob had 32 oz of just that (counts as a clear liquid in my post op diet!). for some reason i can’t get applesauce down, it just feels like it’s stuck in my sernum? anyone else have an issue like that?

also went out to walgreens with my sister and that wiped me out, which was really weird to experience. but i am only on the end of day 3 so i’m not beating myself up about getting tired so fast.

You take lovenox in your thighs? I had to inject it into my tummy. It was awful! Glad you are doing great!

@ALFxRNY yeah they gave me the option, they suggested my thigh since i’ve got enough going on on my stomach right now. but i can do either! have you been able to do it yourself? my best friend is a CNA/PCA and lives 2 min away so she’s been coming over to do them for me since i’m such a wimp about it 😂

I only had to do them a week but my bestie who is a CNA was busy so I did them myself! Longest most frustrating week of my life! Was so glad that he ended them after a week instead of the original 10 days he told me I had to do it

I only got three shots at the hospital and none to take home, I got then in the back of my arm, went to krogers and home depot today on the wheelchair thingies felt great to be out and about .. still scared to force liquids and have my pouch expand since Im still so inflated i feel like Im going to explode, other than that I'm down 10 pounds!

Lucky you about the shots. I had to take them because of the birth control I’m on. It’s been ruining my life for the past couple of months so I’m having it removed from my arm on Monday. And definitely don’t force the liquids. Drinking too much makes you feel like a brick just hit your pouch. And congrats on the 10 lbs!

You’re not allowed to drive? I don’t drive but they told me it was fine as long as I wasn’t on my liquid narcotic pain killers which I only took the first day I came home. And I’m guilty of stepping on the scale every single day 🤦🏽‍♀️

I’m 5 days post op and honestly really struggling with cravings, commercials, etc. Hoping a couple weeks out when I move to pureed stuff this gets easier. Just sipping Water and Clear Liquids is getting old. I’m hanging in there because I know the end result is worth it.

ugh yeah how weird is that! i think it’s probably more so if i were talking the narcotics but since i’m not i could probably drive if i really wanted to. but they want you to have full range of motion and i guess it is a little sore if i were to turn around when pulling out or something. luckily i don’t really need to go anywhere for the next few days!

I am so sorry! The liquid stage in general is just so tiring! I think you will feel much better when you get to the purée stage. Hang in there!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
