So my stomach binder came in today and oh my God it was just what I needed! Everything feels held together nicely and I don’t have the granny walk when I wear it. Best $35 I’ve ever spent

Now i gotta add another purchase to my list! Lol

I just took it off because I needed a break but it definitely helped me move around better and with less pain

I just got a simple one off of Amazon. I got it in 2x because of the measurements but I would’ve had a little more wiggle room with a 3x

I'm officially a member of this board. Surgery this morning. Tummy pretty sore, of course. I get sick when they give me morphine. Other than that a good end to the day. I did walk around the hospital floor 5 times. Suppose to help with nasty gas. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be feeling better. Thanks for the encouragement on this board.

Congrats and welcome to the post op side! The walking and gas x (if they will give it to you) will definitely help! The soreness definitely gets better over time. I still feel it 5 days post op but not as intensely! Here’s to a speedy recovery!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
