hemingwayk 9 Posted June 21, 2018 Question... I'm a barber and I wonder how long before I can return to work? Sent from my LG-LS777 using BariatricPal mobile app

Sent from my LG-LS777 using BariatricPal mobile app What surgery are you having? Recovery times should have been discussed with you at some point. Depending on the surgery, and your work requirements you could go back in a few weeks. But standing for long periods of time leaving over people might not feel all that great. And most are told not to lift anything over 10 lbs or so for upwards of 6 weeks.

I'm getting the sleeve. My doctor said I can so a haircut after about a week but that was when I just did about a cut per week..since then I've gone back to work 3 days a week 8 hours a day.Sent from my LG-LS777 using BariatricPal mobile app

My fear is that if you go back too soon, the weakness / light headed that can happen will be too much. Then their's the whole "not knowing how the new stomach is going to take to certain foods/liquids" etc...
