I’m very concerned about hair loss...I known to some people that’s not important but I just grew my hair over the past year...is there any way to avoid Hair loss?

I don't think so. I'm 3 months in and feeling a little panicky when I spot random strands around me -- normal shedding or the beginning of the Hair loss phase? I never miss my Vitamins and rarely miss my Protein goal.

I’m so concerned about that...I already struggle with my hair now lol but I read on Pinterest that if you use Biotin drops directly to the scalp and wash your hair with biotin Shampoo it want fall out but I’m really starting to doubt that

Not everyone will experience Telogen Effluvium, but *ANY* shock to your system, even a fever can trigger it. Biotin won't stop it, but it *might* help limit the appearance caused by the fall out. The shock of surgery, drastically reduced calories, Protein, etc will cause more hair follicles than normal to enter their rest phase, Telogen. So it's not that your hair is falling out exactly, it's that a larger number of follicles have entered the rest phase than would normally do so, and with the larger quantity doing so at about the same time, it gives the appearance of thinning hair/hair loss. It does go away.

By all means take the Biotin (I do) and make sure your protein levels are where they need to be at (as well as your water) and you can hope it doesn't effect you much. But hope is really all you've got.

You can use rogain as well, but this won't stop the Telogen phase, it just assists in the regrowth.

Nothing out on the market now, will prevent Telogen Effluvium, they only helps reduce it's appearance /effect.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
