hello everyone!

I just recently had Gastric Sleeve surgery on 06/18/2018. I was home from the hospital the following morning. Feeling great, getting all of my exercise in, having no trouble with Fluid, or getting my Protein in (so far, cross your fingers for me!).

Is it normal for my stomach to produce a mating call any time it's given any sort of liquid?

I'd say it's "normal" in that your stomach is still healing so it's possible the liquids are triggering the nerves responsible for triggering the noises. Unless it's just some bubbling from the liquids making their way through, should ease up once the swelling is gone.

Hi Weight of Mind congratulations on a successful surgery. I know sometimes mine once in awhile can make almost obscene LOL noises. My dr. Was running late the other day and it decided to do what you called a mating call. I think it was a combo call of ok I’ve got Water where’s my Protein, it’s time it’s time. I think now we just have to be more in tune with our body and it’s needs not it’s want. Sounds like you’re right on track have a happy, healthy, blessed journey.🙏👏👏🤗

My stomach gurgles and squeaks like a pod of dolphins. I'm pushing seven months out. I think this is just the new normal. Noisey assed stomach!

Weight of Mind, I was also sleeved on 6/18/18 and my new sleeve makes a considerable amount of noise. I attribute it to the trapped gases making their way out of my abdomen. Sounds like you’ve had a relatively easy recovery thus far, congrats.

I am almost 8 weights out and I could have a conversation with my stomach. I would say it is normal.

Oh gosh yes, my stomach is so loud. I have a list of excuses to recycle because it's that bad. It does get better though. I find mine is the worst within the first 30-45 mins after a meal. Sometimes it will do it when I'm drinking though, and that's when its really annoying.

Exactly the same here at 4 months. Empty, full, with Water, without water, it's noisy!

I named mine bob. I figured something that talked so much should have a name.

I like that "Bob" find you realize it could also stand for Belly On Board? I named my itty bitty gastric ulcer, Hector, I figured it might Hector and nag me if I didn't swear off NSAIDS and not follow a more bland gastro-friendly diet from now on!😪

I had my Gastric Sleeve surgery & my hiata hernia repaired on 6/19/18. My recovery hasn't been easy. My stomach does make alot of noise and my chest feel tight. But still hoping to recover as soon as possible.

Mine makes tons of noises too, and when it I think it's done it leaves with a belch.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
