Melloyellow 16 Posted June 19, 2018 Hello, so I had my first post op appointment with my surgeon yesterday. She said my scars healed really good. After surgery I really didn’t have any pain other than gas but that went away pretty quick since I walked a lot. Anyways she approved me for full activity no restrictions. I’m 3 weeks post op and I want to go to the gym but I am a little nervous about maybe hurting myself. I went to reach for something yesterday and felt some pain reaching too high. I’m wondering if I am fully ready or should I just start small? Anyone with advice or things I can do?
Creekimp13 5,840 Posted June 19, 2018 Start with walking. Go a little further (more steps) each day to build up your fitness and endurance. Add some gentle cardio like a stationary bike or elliptical. Water aerobics was my go-to in the early days. Slow, gentle, and done in a heated therapy pool. 1 RaeSlayVSG reacted to this
TxAlpha06 114 Posted June 20, 2018 I started lifting immediately....light weight....lots of reps....that won't create much strain on your core. I'd wait until 6 weeks PO to try and gain strength with heavier weight....but that's just me....muscles....get them...it'll help the process greatly...that cardio only stuff will have you looking like a grape...
