I hear ALOT of bypassers needing to get their gallbladder removed. Is this something more than likely we all will need to get done? Always wondered about that. Guess I will ask my surgeon about that .

I had mine out 13 years ago, but it is a big concern with a lot of doctors. My friend still has hers and had to take these insanely large pills for her gallbladder to protect against complications with it.

Anyone else feel like they’re in their last month of pregnancy? I started this process back in Dec, it’s been a long time coming. Anxious for the arrival of my new “baby” sleeve!

Yes, I feel exactly like that! Like to close but so far. Times seems to have slowed because you're anxiously waiting! I am so excited I want to move time forward.

So what kind of diet does your surgeons require preop mine is 3 weeks no starch which happens in like 16 days then for 2 days prior I get to be on Clear Liquids only which includes broth any kind Jello any kind and drink that says zero and sugar free popsicle oh and clear Protein Water

@newmebithebypass My pre op diet is actually one of the easier ones ive seen. I get a Protein Shake for Breakfast, Protein Bar for lunch, 3 oz of lean meat and salad with 1 serving of fat free dressing and 6 unsalted crackers, for dinner. I can have sugar free Jello and popsicles in between if i get hungry. I start mine Aug 14th.

The 3 weeks prior I can basically have anything as long as it has less than 5 grams of sugar and contains zero flour other than that I get all the meat veggies stuff like that I even get things like halo top ice cream and as long as I stick to a single serving dark chocolate or Sugar Free Chocolate

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
