How is you WL going since your surgery? Well, other than the Pity-Party that I'm hosting over in "Trending Topics", I'm pretty good. (I'm still on soft foods and that gets old!) I've lost 64 pounds since Feb. 16th. Since I'm a nearly 59-yr-old woman, I think that's great. I've certainly never lost that much before and this time I've got a good chance to keep it off. Otherwise, my surgery went smoothly, not too much pain after. My surgeon used an ON_Q ball for pain and it took care of most of it. It was an awkward pain-in-the-a$$, but worth it. I'm lucky that I never struggled to get the fluids in, and I could swallow pills without crushing or anything 2 days after surgery. I took one week off, one week of 1/2 days, then back to full time. But I'm an accountant, so not physically demanding work at all. Good luck with your surgery on Monday! Where are you having it done? Best wishes for a speedy recovery! And hang out on these forums when you get a chance; I have learned so much and gotten so much support! 1 Dmantei56 reacted to this
IntergalacticGal 36 Posted June 17, 2018 Welp! At 9 days post op I’ve lost 17lbs. Pain wasn’t as much of a factor. The gas is way way worse and can last quite awhile. Walking and a heating pad got me through. Today is really the first day I’ve felt myself. It’s been very surreal for me. I’m just spending my time looking for good recipes to cook that my entire family can enjoy and watching YouTube. I’ve had 2 breakdowns. One was cause I was just tired of the gas pains. The second was faux concern from a quasi friend. I’m learning that this journey is all my own. Nothing is written in stone. And to take one day at a time because it WILL get better. Best of luck on Monday. And your fellow North Texans aren’t far for support. 1 1 Orchids&Dragons and Dmantei56 reacted to this
Dmantei56 42 Posted June 17, 2018 I’m having surgery at Texas Presbyterian Hospital in Denton! Dr Michael Lee is my Bariatric Doctor, I’m 61 and think I have a pretty strong pain tolerance, so hopefully this will be a piece of cake. 1 Orchids&Dragons reacted to this
Dmantei56 42 Posted June 17, 2018 Thank you, I’ve been trying to check out recipes myself! I plan to go back to work on the 25th so I’m trying to build my menu plan for the next two weeks! I’ll give a shout out after my surgery on Monday!
