My doctor’s office has a nutritionist that maintains a “closet” - which is really a room - that people can bring in clothes that they have outgrown and take clothes in their current size. It’s all sorted by size so it’s easy to find the size you need. It’s AWESOME! I wish all offices did this. 👍
Yeah that’s such a great idea ;)

I am gonna offer to do this or help run it somehow at my next support group.

That’s such a great idea. So good.

For those that are donating if you have a Dress for success (or similar thru YWCA). They always need more extended sizes for office appropriate wear. They were super thrilled when I donated all my 3X, 22/24s. What wasn’t for them went to my normal charity type places...

That is SO NICE of you! I’m sure it will help a LOT of people! I went last week for my 2 week post-op visit and I brought a bag full of clothes and took a few too. (I didn’t need to take many since I have LOTS of clothes too small for me!!)

I haven't bought anything - I only just got my surgery date and it's at the beginnng of Feb 2019.

BUT, I have started making a sweater in a size 34 chest.

Let me explain, I'm a knitwear designer, and I have to make the samples for the designs I publish, to be photographed for the front of the pattern. 34" is the norm, and it's not easy to find models locally. Today, I started a sample in a size 34" in a beautiful olive green that I know will suit my colouring, with the intention that I will model it myself for the pattern pictures.

I am only a 38B bust right now, but that's because I had a breast reduction 5 years ago. I used to be a 44H. I may as well be bigger than I am, because my belly sticks out furhter than my boobs at this point. Not loving the eternal 9 months pregnant look, have to say.

I have always been too embarrassed to model my own designs. I am hoping that by this time next year I'll be a 34B, with the rest in proportion, and I can save myself a lot of time and money and angst looking for models. It will be such a proud moment for me, I can't even express how much.

I haven't gone out and purchased any clothes, but I have a pair of jeans from high school that are a size 18 which I am dying to get back into. Those are my goal jeans 😊

I do have my eyes on a particular brand once I get to maintenance, but I’m holding off until then, because they’re pricey and I don’t know what size I’ll end up at... 😂

Try them on now. I held on to so much stuff with the idea that I’d wear it when I was small enough and then when I finally got enough confidence to try them on... I discovered they were all too big.

Missed opportunity, that one. 😂

I've got clothing that I purchased that took over a month to be received... and it was too big by the time I got it!

I just so happened to save a bag of business skirts from when I was a size 12 a few years back. I'm a 22 now, so those are my goal clothes! I hope to get to a size 10, ideally. I just can't wait to start purging my "fat" clothes. I hate all of them! lol!

Don’t do it lol. It won’t fit when you think you’re ready.

I remember i had this super cute summer dress that was a size medium from years ago. I told myself i just wanted to lose enough weight to fit into it. Fast forward to this past summer, i found it while moving and tried it on. It literally fell right off me and on to the floor. Not even my big old flotation devices could hold that dress up.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
