I went ahead and purchased the suit I was wanting. My phone is dead right now, but I will come back a post a pic!

Now my,public I do have a thought. I want polka dots, don't know if that sounds like something Obese Olive and her cohots would come up with. Even if that harkens to profiing, so be it. Maybe a pastel shade and knee, length or just above. I am tired of yanking my hem down through life. Maybe a 16 or 18? No dang it, it is going to be a 15 Junior, that's what size I want to be. And when,it happens, even if it isn't,until 2019 I SHALL POST IT ON BARIATRIC PAL-You people gave me the bravery to attack this problem!!!😝✊

Ha! I bought myself a juniors size large blouse about 3 months post op. Having started at a Tight 20 I figured there’s no way I would ever shrink too small to wear it.

I now wear a 4. Gave that shirt away long ago!

Go for it, but don’t invest too much!

Here’s my suit. It’s a two piece so I decided to by the top now but wait until next summer to buy a matching bottom. Because who knows what my lower tummy and butt will be like! Lol

I only bought one new dress in a medium- besides that I have a 1/2 closet full of size Large clothes I can’t wait to fit back into. I thought that shopping afterwards (when I’ve lost the weight) might be a “pick me up” I can use to reward myself anyway :)

My husband convinced me to get a few things in one or two sizes smaller than what I was wearing; I started with underwear because no one wants those to be baggy for long! I also got a few shirts. I'm in the large/14 now and will definitely get into the mediums later. I also was cleaning out closets and found a few items I kept from high school that I can now wear. It's surreal that I'm where I was over 25 years ago.

I did on Saturday! There were a couple of very pretty Modcloth dresses that I came across. They're only a size or two smaller than I am now, so I'm being conservative. :D

I bought smaller sized clothing for the summer, size 14. But they fit me now surprisingly. Not because I think have shrunk that much, just because clothing sizes are much different than 10 years ago. Vanity sizing has got me all confused!

Not like goal clothing, but I'm thinking about hitting up some yard sales before summer ends to grab a few things to get me through fall and winter. Cuz nobody would be happy if i wake up one day and find myself with nothing that fits...lol

I ran across some super cute swimsuits yesterday. They didn’t have any in my current size but since they are on sale I’m considering buying one in a size I think might fit me next summer.

Anyone else bought clothing that you’re hoping will fit as you work towards your goal?
I bought a size 10 lingerie set before I was even finished with my pre-op requirements, lol. It’s the only purchase I’ve made though. I hope to fit it eventually, even if my body tricks me and decides to go smaller than a 10, at least I’ll get to wear it for a few weeks 😂😂

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
