I feel like just want to sit here and cry, but I have 3 kids that need to be taken care of so I can’t allow myself that luxury. That is you hormones talking, fat burning releases a rush of hormones, rationally speaking losing such a large amount of weight in such a short time should lead to elation not depression...so know that this is the typical hormone rush and it will get better. based on your weight loss you are right on track. looks like you've lost 18lbs in about a month assuming a 2 week preop! way better than i did and I'm wearing a size 2 right now. Also, you should never use the word "only" in front of a loss. would you ever say "I ONLY gained 10lbs"? no you would not....so why minimize success? remove that word from your vocabulary Edited June 20, 2018 by Travelher 1 BostonWLKC reacted to this
Brassapple 56 Posted June 20, 2018 Thank you Travelher! Wise words which I will heed. The scale is moving again, slowly but trending in the right direction. I feel so much better now. Back to normal. I’ve been watching Dr. Matthew Weiner’s videos and have been focusing on eating the right foods and exercising and not paying attention to the scale. It threw me off. I was weighing myself daily and became increasingly frustrated with every day I didn’t lose weight. Didn’t expect a stall at week 2. I’ve shifted my focus and I am mentally, physically and emotionally better for it. 1 Orchids&Dragons reacted to this

I lost 8 pounds on the pre op diet for a total loss of 18 pounds. I am 48 years old. I read all the time about how the weight is just falling off other people but it’s not for me. I am always hungry. I can eat about 3/4 cup of Soup with no problem. I drink my Water and Protein. I’m starting to think that my surgeon didn’t cut enough of my stomach. I feel like I’ve made the biggest mistake of my life. I could have written this post word for word. It makes me scared that this was a lot of money for close to 20 pounds. 😔

Hang in there. It’ll happen. 1 annie93 reacted to this
Wendyfm 494 Posted June 20, 2018 I think slow and steady is better. It took me a little over twelve months to loose 100 pounds and four years later I am still at a100 pound loss. Don’t panic and don’t get frustrated you will lose it. 1 1 Orchids&Dragons and BajanSleeve reacted to this
MeanSleevedMachine 277 Posted June 20, 2018 That is 3/4 a pound a day. How is that bad? I’ve lost an average of .92 lbs a day and I am thrilled. I’d be happy at .75. Really, anything over .5 a day is excellent.
BajanSleeve 244 Posted June 20, 2018 Be encouraged! I woke up today 3 lbs lighter after a 10 day stall. whoohooooo. It moves. I am 3 weeks plus 1 day post op. 1 Orchids&Dragons reacted to this

gwndls36 0 Posted June 23, 2018 Hi I’m new to the group and have already found information that had been encouraging. I was beginning to think something was wrong. My surgery weight on 12 June was 222 my current weight this morning is 213 was starting to feel so discouraged.
Frustr8 7,886 Posted June 23, 2018 Brassapple you are good to be okay, and it will be Your Okay. Work with this new tool you were given, but in this we make our kind of music, write our own song. and remember you will be the person who sings it best. At this point, PreSurgery depending on which expert you ask I am between 150-180 pounds over weight. Now I can run around in circles, yelling at the top of my lungs What Am I going to do? or I can buckle down follow my dieticians rules, have my surgery, Work to have the best results I can by exercising and following some, new lifelong rules and trusting I can be the right Frustr8 I want to be, If I make it down to 140, glorious, if I make it down to 175 which is where I think I ought,to end up, still fine, if I make under 200 pounds still acceptable, I just know I can't live well at 320 and live longer. This current weight is not healthy for,my.future. So it may be I only make it down to 195 or so, I will accept it if I feel better and can still, love and accept myself that way..
