lbug 4 Posted June 13, 2018 If all goes well Dr. said I could return to work after a week. Is that realistic? Thanks for your input. Sent from my LG-K550 using BariatricPal mobile app 1 Dmantei56 reacted to this
Kimbero 167 Posted June 13, 2018 If all goes well Dr. said I could return to work after a week. Is that realistic? Thanks for your input. Sent from my LG-K550 using BariatricPal mobile appI have an office job. Not all sitting, not all standing. A little of both. I went back 8 days after surgey. The 1st day was a little rough, i was all alone in the office for 9 hours, but i survived. Every since then its been fine. So i would say it depends on what type of job you have. Hooe this helpsSent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using BariatricPal mobile app 1 Dmantei56 reacted to this

Meggs11 32 Posted June 13, 2018 I have a desk job and I returned after 7 days and it was fine. I have a desk that goes from standing to sitting so I made sure to alternate often. I am 13 days post op and I feel awesome (knock on wood). 1 Dmantei56 reacted to this

Peachypeach 4 Posted June 14, 2018 I’m a nurse. Doctor gave me 6 weeks but I think I’ll go back sooner. I’m 10 days post op and starting to feel like myself again.
GassyGurl 428 Posted June 14, 2018 I have a desk job, and short term disability that covered my salary. I took 4 weeks, and wish I had taken 6. Not because I had a difficult recovery, but because it was nice to have time to learn new habits and focus on ME. It was fantastic. Bellasoo 45 Posted June 15, 2018 My doc suggests taking 4-6 weeks just to get used to the new normal. I have short term disability and I plan to take at least 4 weeks. I work in an office but I lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis. I want to make sure all is well before I come back.
Dmantei56 42 Posted June 15, 2018 I’m glad you asked this as I have my sleeve done on the 18th and plan to return to work on the 25th. Hoping I do as good! 1 Dmantei56 reacted to this
sillykitty 10,776 Posted June 15, 2018 I work from home so I took no time off work. But a week to go back into an office, desk job would have been fine. I started traveling for work at three weeks post op, so I certainly wouldn't have needed to be off and at home for more than a few days. 1 Dmantei56 reacted to this
