I made a pot of bean Soup with ribs for my husband and I wanted to know if I can drink the liquid from it? Im dying for some salt, does anyone have any suggestions if I can’t? Just as long as you should be watching your blood pressure or sodium intake... take it slow in case you've got any reactions, but... it's a liquid and you are approved liquids. *disclaimer* This is my opinion and not any medically supported information. LOLI'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I would stick with diet Dr. advised. If you stray from it I hear you should strain it for any chunks of food that may be present. Kat0000 124 Posted June 13, 2018 My nutritionist recommends bean broth. Its broth so its not a problem. See how well its sits with your stomach.
Allformyprincesas 1 Posted June 14, 2018 My doctor also said no salt and no sugar, I know Beans are loaded with sodium, that’s also a concern I had and forgot to mention, opinions? Thank you everyone

Thank you everyone If the Docs said no salt... I'd have to ask them if they meant no added salt or really "no salt" because Sodium exists in so many things, including the approved shakes and lots of other "approved" foods/liquids/etc, I mean, chicken broth is acceptable and that's got plenty of sodium in it... Honestly, if all other broths are allowed, I can't for the life of me see why broth from Beans would somehow not be allowed. But as always, if you are REALLY worried about it, call your doctor, surgical team or nutritionist. 1 sillykitty reacted to this
