Little Kansas kitty,

I'm soooo jealous. My dream is to own a ragdoll (or 10) . I have two cats of my own and I'm feeding three stray cats so it's not an option now.

I know a breeder locally but she has gone from $750 to $900 for her ragdoll kittens. Maybe one of these days 😸

You are a good cat mama! I gave the Ragdoll kittens as a Christmas present to my kids wrapped up in boxes on Christmas day. They were in that $ range which was not comfortable but I decided they were worth it since cats live a long time plus I loved their little sweet personalities. It truly was the best Christmas ever.

Hope all is going well with notifying work.

I am not telling my work what type of surgery I am having. They all know I have stomach issues such as ulcers so I am just letting them think it is due to that. I am very much an introvert and do not tell my business to others. I completely understand your feelings.

I’m very private too. I did not tell my boss anything other than I needed to take time off for surgery. He said fine and he did not ask me what kind of surgery I was having as that goes against company policy. I did not share any details with any of my colleagues either. Months before surgery I had started to adopt many of the post-WLS habits and started to lose weight, so no one commented on my smaller portions, drinking only Water (and not with meals), et al, once I returned to the office. Thankfully, these behaviors and subsequent weight loss were not correlated to my surgery, which was a relief.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
