moondoggie1983 202 Posted June 10, 2018 I was sleeved 5/10 and I’ve lost 25 lbs since surgery. But the last week? Nada. No gain, but no loss either. I’m just wondering how you guys are doing weight loss/stall wise.
Bryn910 519 Posted June 10, 2018 I too had surgery on 5/10. My stall was all of last week and I had my period which really got to my head. Stall finally broke yesterday and I am so happy

I’m asking because I had that really rocky patch where I couldn’t keep anything down so I want to make sure I’m still at least a little on track. Not too much, not too little. I did nothing to break it. I actually expected it cause it was my third week and there’s always the infamous three week stall. I just rode it out. i lost 22 lbs. from my highest in 3 weeks prior to my surgery date (includes 2 week liquid diet) I lost 19 lbs. from surgery day. I have not gone to gym yet, plan on starting tomorrow. I know the scale will jump a bit due to working out as well 1 Taoz reacted to this

BajanSleeve 244 Posted June 11, 2018 I am 12 days post op end of May. I went 2 days without weight loss. The doctors at the hospital I went to encouraged me to start the treadmill at the end of week 2 to jump kick weight loss. The stall seems to happen with increased calories in phase 2. I lost 27 lbs pre and post surgery but already seem to be stalling. I was told that I needed to do daily walks for a minimum of 20 minutes a day from end of week 2 and onwards with increased exercise from week 4. I guess movement is a necessity to keep the ball rolling, not only calorie restriction
Taoz 284 Posted June 11, 2018 I was sleeved early, 2nd May. I didn't panic when I stalled as I had already seen so many posts by new sleevers being reassured that the 3 week stall (and many others) were normal and that they'll end when they end, I didn't need to do anything different to "fix" them, I just needed to wait it out and stick to my plan. I stalled at 104kg for almost a week from 2.5 to 3.5 weeks post op, and stalled a little last week (am now 6 weeks post op) when I had my period, which I also pretty much expected. As long as I know I'm doing the right thing and following my plan, I know the overall trend will be continued weight loss. I figure the less I can concern myself about stalls, the less power they have to derail or frustrate me.
HappyRN 8 Posted June 11, 2018 I was sleeved on Jan 31st of this year and have had some weeks when I had stalled but then it seems my body recalibrates and starts losing again. It can be frustrating but I just have to tell myself it will pass.
MIZ60 1,291 Posted June 11, 2018 Had the sleeve 5/2 and like many others I had a stall around week 3-4 where I would fluctuate each day up or down less than a half of a pound. Finally started losing again and am down 18.8 lbs. in 5 weeks and 5 days. Added to the 15 I lost on the preop that is a total of 38.8 in 7 weeks and 5 days. I am not losing as fast as many but I am 60 years old!!! I am so happy with the process, enjoying my daily exercise and looking forward to starting solids on Wednesday. The one thing that has helped me is to increase my Water intake to about 80 oz per day in addition to crystal light, SF popsicles and coffee. I am done with the popsicles after the current box is gone since the 8-12 carbs per day are not needed. 1 Sleeved36 reacted to this
Screwballski 540 Posted June 12, 2018 That 3 week stall is real! I just started losing again yesterday and not a darn thing has changed. I will tell you this, even though I was not losing pounds, I was losing something. This last week I have dropped half a size everywhere (so I’m not stuck between sizes) while the scale was bopping up an down. I’m a daily weigher but I rely more on tracking to keep me honest. Intellectually, I know the scale is not always an accurate reflection of what’s really happening to my body. 🙂 1 Sleeved36 reacted to this
Kay07 734 Posted June 12, 2018 I stalled on the third week, right on the dot! It lasted a 6 days before picking back up again. I had surgery 5/14 and am down 22lbs 1 TxAlpha06 reacted to this
Sleeved36 356 Posted June 12, 2018 Surgery 5/9 and I have lost 22 pounds and total 16 inches. Not sure what to call a "stall", but my losses are all in little jumps. The scale won't move for a few days, then I will be down 3 pounds. Then same for a little while again. The logical part of my brain recognizes the steady downward trend, but the emotional part of my brain goes a little crazy. I start thinking things like this: I am working hard and want to see results dang it! Am I going to be one of those people who doesn't lose? Or worse regains it all? I start thinking things like this: I am working hard and want to see results dang it! Am I going to be one of those people who doesn't lose? Or worse regains it all? This. This is what my brain does too! I’m still struggling with the liquid. And the Protein as well. Since I spent so long on only Clear Liquids, when I moved into soft foods, I’m having a real issue with liquid. 90 minutes of not drinking anything 3-5 times a day is rough. If I hit 40-50oz, I’m happy. I’m still way under the 800-1000 calories too. If I somehow get to 400, I’m pleased as punch. I think this is just going to be a slower process for me than for others. I know my surgeon used the camera instead of a bougie (which is about the size of a 32 French) and that he does VSG stomachs quite a bit smaller than the majority of surgeons, so I figure if I can get anything in, I’m doing ok. I looked at a pen the size of a 32F and could not believe how effing small it is! I was shook! I have a follow up appointment with him tomorrow so we’ll see how it goes. I did lose a pound and a half between yesterday and today, so hopefully my stall is over. I’m hoping I’ll get clearance to start going to a gym tomorrow as well. Even with the stall, it’s hard to believe that since I started my pre-reqs with my NUT a year before surgery I’ve lost a total of 81.4 lbs! I find strangely that I keep thinking I’m bigger than I am. I’ll be walking around thinking, I can’t get through that gap, when in actuality I don’t even have to squeeze through sideways. Or that I’m looking at clothes that are 2-3 sizes too big. It’s weird! I’ve got to do all my measurements tonight to be prepared for my appointment tomorrow. I’m down 26.4 pounds since surgery on 5/20, which isn’t spectacular, but also isn’t terrible. One thing, I’m sick to death of the Optifast shakes!!! I have GOT to find a recipe for a Protein Shake that I’m actually going to like!
