I love the Tomato and Roasted Red Pepper best, and the Organic Creamy Tomato is good as well. Another option to find these (at a lower cost) is the Trader Joe's brand, which is made by Pacific

I am 12 days post op and only now regaining energy since I can have more substantive things to eat. But I am also a diabetic so perhaps I would get tired more easily anyway. If you can go back to work after 10 days when you are eating more substantive foods maybe you would consider that so your energy would be more up

Each plan is different. Not all plans require Soups to be strained. Mine plan for instance was full liquids once discharged from the hospital. The rule was anything that would go through a straw. So I made Soup, pureed, but did not strain. I was also allowed yogurt, pudding, and other very soft foods during the liquid stage.

So just because your surgeon requires this program does not mean that others will stress their stomachs or threaten the "seal". As long as everyone follows their surgeons plan, it's all good.

You’re definitely not the only one. My nutritionist had me make smoothies during the liquid phase and allowed me to had a bit of PB which really helped. My fav was banana, milk and some sugar and salt reduced Peanut Butter.

I sipped on a lot of Protein broth. This stuff is amazing. Great creamy, savory flavor. You can buy it at Walmart.

I do smoothies all the time now, practically everyday, with Protein Powder. I can see you are post op, just not how far. But, for that other OP I’d be careful introducing fruit until it’s allowed. Just because it’s blended fruit, doesn’t mean it won’t cause distress on your pouch.

I'm the same, i hate sweet stuff! I'm way more of a savory person! I still drink my two Protein Drinks a day, but now i get to add my savory tid bits during the day and dinner which gets me through! Good luck, you're almost there and it gets better!! :1312_thumbsup_tone3:

I am 6 days out and I am not hungry at all. It’s crazy how this surgery works with your body! I think of food but I don’t desire it or feel hungry! No pain and incisions look great! This experience has been smooth so far! Far less than I ever expected!

I was the same way, your appetite will return at some point. But enjoy the easiness while it’s there. Congrats on being off the bench!

I didnt read through the whole thread but I was CRAVING Peanut Butter after surgery and I absolutely love it.

So basically around a week postop I stopped drinking shakes and started making peanut butter Protein pudding.

sugar free fat free vanilla pudding, skim milk (lactose free because im lactose intolerant), vanilla whey protein (lactose free because above) and pb 2 peanut butter powder.

I literally ate this stuff all day every day. It was amazing at the time, but after a few weeks of it I got so sick of it I couldnt eat it since.

But it got me through the early times extremely well

I’m feeling the same way. Hungry and disappointed. I just had my sleeve on Wednesday and never expected to feel a bit of hunger. I am drinking propel, having beef broth, sugar free popsicles, etc. and all I can think of is eating “real food” instead. Is this just a “head hunger” I’m feeling?

Pleasedontjudgeme I was starving after about 5 or 6 days. I am now 16 days post op and am allowed to have soft food so I tried some cottage cheese which was delicious but after about 3 bites I was done for! I still crave pizza like no other. We just have to have the will power to overpower those wants because they aren’t needs. I can promise you this though- it does get easier! Hang in there darlin!

I personally only had head hunger at that stage. Four months in, I still have little physical hunger. Others have had physical hunger from the beginning though.

The thing about head hunger is it feels real! I really never understood that presurgery. Now when I feel hungry I have to think about what type of hunger it is. If it's only for something junky, it's head hunger. I have to think if I had a trigger, TV commercial, smell of food, or even writing my grocery list, if so, it's head hunger.

Also, are you on a PPI? Like Rantadine or Omeprazole? A growl-y acid-y stomach feels like hunger as well.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
