Plastic condiment containers; I am on soft food and only allowed 1-2 ounces of food at a time

Do you mean those mustard and relish containers used by restaurants? I'm confused.

Digital scale!! Measuring food is so vital. I purchased 2 (one for home, one for work). Going to order another that will fit in my purse for when I am further out and going out to eat

I hadn't thought about a scale. Terrific idea.

Now that I’m post surgery and spent four days in the hospital. The one thing I discovered I cannot live without post surgery is a recliner.

Omg whatever you do get one before surgery.

We had to go buy one the night after I made it home. Unless you have one of those adjustable beds you can incline.

But you HAVE to have a recliner to recover and sleep

I invested in one of these after surgery:

https://www.amazon.com/Professional-Chopper-Blender-Processor-QB1004/dp/B004XK4N9C/ref=sr_1_9?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1530264986&sr=1-9&keywords=ninja+blender

I tried using a blender but it would not puree meats or anything else correctly. The Ninja is awesome!

A belt and a decent manual espresso maker... I just realized these are my essentials 7 months post op, and writing it together makes me feel like McGuyver...

Get a small food processer from Walmart. They work great for purees and are super cheap. I found a digital food scale on Amazon, I think it was $8

They are 2oz clear containers with lids. I work in a concession stand during football season and we use them for jalapeños. They sell them by the paper plates. I use them for everything now.

I looked every where for the gas x strips. Walgreen's pharmacist said they no longer make them. If you can find them, then try them but I was told they don't help for this type of air After surgery. The gas pain was so bad after surgery that I had my daughter look for them everywhere!! In hopes they might work!!

Nope they don’t make them. I used the chewable and they didn’t work on the gas post op but they are amazing for the gas building up in my stomach after eating anything

I **LOVE** my Ninja BL682Z. I can freeze SF Jello in ice cubes and then turn them into snow cones with this thing... Like, legit, ice cubes to snow. It's loud, but it's powerful. I've used it 2-3 times a day since Surgery over 2 months ago and it's still just as good as day one.

how much was your Ninja? It it a blender or a food processor?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
