I can’t handle sugar free items, the taste and gives me Migraine

so I’ve been drinking 3/4 Water and 1/4 Snapple raspberry

theyll have to deal with that, I can’t do sugar free

I couldn't do Protein Water or shakes. I try not to even think about protein water or I'll start to gag. I bought 3 cases pre-op of the protein water and returned them. The case I opened is going to a food pantry because there is nothing that can make me choke it down.

I do the Protein Bars with no problem. I even found one that has 30g of protein per bar.

Just add unflavored Protein to chicken bullion for a more savory form of protein.

Y3ah @ Abrial dogs won't touch Protein Drink and they have been known. to drink from toilets, so their taste. buds aren't normally that finicky!🐶

You know I didn’t even think of the fact that the dog will try to drink from the toilet but won’t try my Protein Shake. What does she know that I don’t lol.

I’m with you. The sight or thought of it literally turns my stomach. I’m on Carnation Instant Breakfast No Sugar Added and lots of Greek yogurt. Starting solids tomorrow so Protein Bars will be in my future.

That’s not bad. I don’t do sugar free either. All I taste is chemicals. Bad chemicals.

Nah she still thinks she is her puppy size. She tried sitting in daddy’s lap yesterday and barked at him cause she couldn’t fit her whole body. I told him it was totally his fault since his lap didn’t grow with her. 😜

I hate them, hate them, hate them. I don't like sweets, for one thing. (If they made a nacho-chip flavored Protein Shake, it might be different!) I hate the aftertaste, the grittiness, etc. etc. etc.

ARGH.

*sulking a little bit while trying to drink this @#$% Protein shake*

I finally found one that 1) I don't despise and 2) has 30 grams!! of Protein. Ensure Max Protein. I have it over crushed ice-when they stay icy cold I tolerate them better. And 30 grams helps the daily total tremendously.

Try different brands. I had the same issue. I can’t handle fake sugar. I found this brand called INTEGRATED

they have chocolate, vanilla and strawberry

I did two scoops with 2 tablespoon of PB powder

it has not fake sugar after taste

I'm actually getting tired of shakes. Going to use up the few I have now and then stop them for a while.

I've started using WonderSlim shakes/pudding Meal Replacement and BariWise pudding meal replacement. Protein is only 15g but it's a nice change from the Protein Shakes

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
