madscientistmommy 124 Posted June 6, 2018 Hi there! I’m one month out from my VSG surgery and I’ve lost 47 lbs (21 before, 26 after). I’m still about 48 lbs from the weight I was 20 years ago, but my wedding ring is really loose. The fat had gone all around the ring, but not right under it. I’m wondering if the fat will remodel under my rings so they will fit again, or if I will need to get them resized. Thanks! allwet 868 Posted June 7, 2018 (edited) given some more time it will even out mostly by going away. this one was a great NSV for me - putting my wedding ring back on after years of it sitting in a drawer. then you may need it resized but wait for a few months Edited June 7, 2018 by allwet 2 Pearldrop and madscientistmommy reacted to this

She_whirls 204 Posted June 7, 2018 I used sizers for awhile but eventually just had my rings sized at a jewelers. I’m about 7 months out but I’m really hoping my fingers don’t shrink anymore
TakingABreak 2,733 Posted June 7, 2018 My rings were loose from the very beginning. My feet and hands shrunk immediately. But it took about 2 months to get back into my rings. Now they are borderline falling off, but they said its bad for your rings to have them sized too many times. Therefore, I'm holding off, because I've already had them done twice in the past. 3 madscientistmommy, Pearldrop and Orchids&Dragons reacted to this
madscientistmommy 124 Posted June 8, 2018 Thanks for all the advice! I will get some resizers. I’m coming up to my 20th anniversary and it feels weird not to have my rings on, lol!
sideeye 1,440 Posted June 9, 2018 Just don’t keep wearing them if they’re loose - I gestured the other day and my ring flew off my hand and into a pond. It was costume jewelry, thankfully, but still! 2 madscientistmommy and Orchids&Dragons reacted to this
madscientistmommy 124 Posted June 9, 2018 Oh no! I did take them off for now.
abefroman329 704 Posted June 9, 2018 I really wanted a titanium or tungsten carbide wedding band, but that meant I’d have to buy a new ring if my size changed (neither medal can be sized). I think I’m on my fourth or fifth wedding band now (I don’t pay more than $20 for any of them). In total I’m down about 4.5 ring sizes. 1 madscientistmommy reacted to this
