What are you eating for breakfast, lunch? Lost.

Recommended Posts

I'm sure people have posted this kind of thing before, but Breakfast or lunch? I'm mostly at a loss for breakfast. I'm 7 weeks out and I suppose I'm still on soft foods? I'm gluten free. Anyway, I know a lot of us do shake for the Protein boost and I do that often but that can get boring and I do eggs all kinds of ways. What else? I'm a good cook, but I hate cottage cheese so that's out. It's like bariatric breakfast seems like shakes and eggs and I know more than that.

LUnch? I guess my brain is drawing a blank. I am not a fan of salad (yes, I know) I just can't think of stuff that's new and interesting. Looking back it looks I eat leftover breakfast, yogurt, some low fat chees, shakes. I need variety! So basically i just want to know, what do YOU eat?

hummus, babaganush, stew, bean salad, ground beef, corn torilla with some ground beef and some avocado aka a taco, quinoa salad, caprese salad, 3 oz of any type of meat without fat, just use your imagination get what you can eat and see what you can come up with!

in my case im 3 months in and still cant eat more than 3.5oz without throwing up

so use a scale

What do you want for breakfast?! Pick a Protein. It doesn’t have to be breakfast food. Any protein you’d put anywhere can be breakfast. 🙂

I'm a year and three months out so I can probably tolerate a little more food than you but one of my favorite breakfasts is overnight oats. In a small mason jar I mix 1/3 cup oatmeal (I use old fashion, not instant) a tablespoon of powdered Peanut Butter and then cover it with some Premier Protein shake.

Stir it with a spoon and let it set overnight. I usually heat in the microwave for 20 secs to take the chill off but it is good cold too. You can change the flavor by changing the Protein Shake. It is delish and I am stuffed until lunch!

I'm super boring and usually have left over meat that I grilled the night before. Today is a boneless skinless chicken thigh, with sugar free BBQ Sauce. I will follow that in about an hour or two later with 1/4 cup of cottage cheese. But I always have a lean meat for 2 meals a day.

Yes, you are correct in that most of us do the Protein Shake for breakfast. I am 6 months out at this point. I mix mine with coffee in the a.m. I feel like my stomach is smallest in the morning so actual foods is a turn off because I get stuffed after 2 bites. Protein coffee fills me up gradually from 6 am to 7 am and lets me hit half of my protein goals for the day early on.

lunch and dinner are usually the same meal because I like to meal prep in the beginning of the week to relieve the Whats for lunch/dinner decisions. I don't mind eating the same thing all week. I've found this amazing recipe for ground turkey and green Beans that I eat 2 weeks out of the month. It's spicy, filling and I haven't gotten tired of it. I also eat this shrimp and broccoli meal in rotation. Now that it is getting warmer out I will use my grill to do some chicken and veggies for the week. Search pinterest for some Keto inspired meals. I don't do full keto but the recipes are great inspiration.

I'm loving Shrimp cocktail and chili Beans. I found I am really craving something with flavor. My son made me a sous vides egg cup. He uses 1 egg, tsp gruyere cheese and a 1/4 slice of bacon. It's yummy. He makes me 4 a week. I just heat them in the microwave for 30 seconds.

I start my day with a Protein Shake. I have an hour commute to work, so I sip it while on my way to work. I have recently sworn off the RTD ones in lieu of powdered. They're more versatile. I have several variations, so I don't get bored. On the weekends I change it up for variety. I will either scramble a egg or make oatmeal (not instant or quick oats: either old fashioned or steel-cut).

For lunch I'll often have left overs from the night before. But if I don't have any that interest me, I'll start with some sort of Protein. I always have hard boiled egg, tuna, and cheese on hand so I have one of those with fruit or veggies. Just got some hummus, so I'll probably start doing hummus with raw veggies like carrots, peppers, cucumbers.

I will be so happy to be allowed salad and fresh fruit in 6 more weeks!!!

I'm stuck on the same foods over and over and still only getting literally three bites in before being full. It makes prepping food seem pointless. I know I'll have more room as I heal. For now I just push through.
I eat about 1/4 of a lf baby bel cheese dipped in hummus.
A tablespoon of Refried Beans with a little cheese and juice from salsa.
I bought soft Protein Bars from my Dr I can eat about 4 bites of that. A whole one is 15g Protein. I've been eating the same one 3 days now.
I tried chicken salad a week or two ago but it was too rich for me. I'll try again this week probably.
I'm bored with foods and Protein Drinks make me gag.
But each day my tastes change so I will keep on trying.

I guess leftover dinner Protein would be good. Since the surgery I've been experimenting with lots of different flavors but on a limited budget but it still works. I was making egg cups, I think now that I have more stuff on hand I may do some more. The steel cut oats with premier sounds yummy, I actually just bought some but I was disappointed because the protein was low. But now that I'm eating "real" food I'm not losing! My calories aren't more that 700. Time to get a "real" exercise routine I suppose.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
