I understand! Surgery is scary! I pray for peace and try to deep breathe when the stress hits me.

My scheduler told me to expect late June or early july , and include still up in the air about what surgery I’m going to have bypass or sleeve I have until next week to decide 🤪 . It’s getting real, by the way I’m in San Diego

I am hoping to get a date in July in the next week or so. All of my paperwork is done, I have lost my required 15 pounds, I am a teacher so I hope to have surgery and recover, and at least have a good start getting into a good routine before school starts again.

Hi Coco! I’m booked in for 24th July for my lapband! Would love to chat to you and anyone else booked for July! Have you all started your pre op diets yet? I started mine today. Feeling hungry and tired. How is everyone else feeling?

I have been dieting for a few months. I am 30 pounds down. My surgeon does not require a liquid diet before surgery, we just have to stick to a 1400 calorie plan. It’s been pretty easy to do. All of my pre-op stuff is next week. I am excited.

Remember to change things up a little with your Water , Try Propel or Nestle Splash flavors, they are no calorie. Try herbal tea. Hate room temprature water, I do, Try it chilled instead. Drop a few m8nt leaves in, Try Mio or Crystal flavorings. One of my friends drinks sugar free Jello while it's still liquid, stranger than me. And remember sometimes when you think you are hungry, you may be thirsty instead.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
