My doctor is so opposite he is not very friendly. Or just say not a people person. Did go over anything with me about the surgery I had to ask all the questions was not volunteered. It’s yo Kate to switch surgeons. I know a lot of women that had him. He is highly recommended but that’s the only thing they say he not a people person. And I love to talk. So I’m excited about my surgery also. I know it’s going to be work but I’m excited to see my body go through the different stages while losing the weight

Hello, yall

Found out today I am also a July sleever. Scheduled for July 24th. My surgeons only concern was my anxiety. Understanding I am on a military base and they can see all your records and meds going back years. So he wrote me a script to take daily. And I will do so. I love love my surgeon. He gives out his cell number and actually answers. Hahaha. I am beyond excited. The count down is on. And no preop diet. Looking for a surgery buddy!!!!

You can change surgeons but make sure you dont have to redo your program or all the things you have completed. I got lucky with my surgeon. I am a military spouse and having this done on a military base. I had no choice in surgeon. He is just a great man. He is big on hugs too. Take care of you.

Welcome @jamjar Gem, like your pen name, reminds me if a guilty child with a spoon in Mum's preserves. I am from Central Ohio a future RnY, getting closer to surgery but no definate date in July assigned yet. So I could be a surgery, twin to almost anybody else on here. I suspect mid to last July, I have 1 small thing to finish, once the results are faxed in 2nd July it will be full speed ahead!🚤

Thanks! It's a childhood nickname, in fact nothing to do with preserves! :360_strawberry: I hope you get your date confirmed soon. Have you had previous bariatric surgery? I have a band, so I'm having that whipped out at the same time (at least 'm hoping both can be done at the same time!)

And I grow more and more interested . Where in BC my mostest province with memories.? I spent the Bicentennial of Confederation visiting Vancouver,Campbell River and Quadra Island .
My little ears perked up when I heard you were or are there. Where will you have your surgery ? Are you, private pay or going through National/ Provincial Health Schemes? We once had LesleyBari who lived in the Rockies close to Alberta nut was flying to Vancouver for her surgery. Many have wished to visit the Yukon for its wild country,Me, my dream is to someday see the Peace River country for, myself. That was my romantic dream as a teenager and it still lurks in the back of my mind.

Had my last visit with nutritionist. Start Pre Op diet Monday. 3 shakes a day, 1 serving of vegetable, fruit and starch a day (on their list). Also all the pre op doctors appointments. Have a lot planned the next couple weeks, so hope that helps with this diet.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
